    @Rob - Would love to get the thoughts from this group in a future episode about the changes to the men's NCAA programs and the changes to the scholarship limits that came out this week and clarification apparently coming out tomorrow. Jay sounded optimistic about the future of men's NCAA at the AVCA recruiting seminar, but there's a lot of worry for the olympic sports in many football schools. Thanks for these great episodes.

    I think Allie Lamberson also played a key role in spotting Tina at her Acapulco bronze in the World U-17s. Coach Collier was also there. Tina played with a 14 year-old partner and lost the semis to Kathryn Plummer/Morgan Martin in three sets.

    Embrace the wins. It's easy to get caught up on where we think we need to be compared to other sports and the women's game but this year had by far the most high quality content produced in the history of collegiate mens volleyball. Countless new content creators covering mens college volleyball in new and exciting ways outside the gatekeepers in traditional media. We owe so much of the growth of the game to the OG content creators like Rob and Vinnie. Don't let some executives at ESPN or NCAA hold us back. Anyone that goes to a local grass or indoor tournament knows how much the game continues to grow. Keep up the good work guys!

    Knight wasn’t just a championship outside. He was the most outstanding player in the NCAA championship match last year. Huge team player to play libero this year. UCI was up 10-9 and tied 11-11 in the fifth set against UCLA. The transfer portal has already had a huge impact. Gooch was a transfer who was a key player for UCLA to win the championship in 2023. UCI had three transfers who were very important to the team this year who helped them to get to the semis and pressure UCLA.

    Thanks for the content, Rob & gang! I'm glad to have been able to stream the quarterfinals & semifinals. Yes, wish the semifinals were broadcast on ESPN. Exciting 5-set matches. I believe it was Alan Knipe who said in 2022 it was a shame that the two 5-set semifinal matches were not shown on TV as well. Those 2022 semis were nail-biters! One of them was a reverse sweep! I believe that the 2023 BWC Tournament title match was shown on one of the ESPN channels with Paul Sunderland and Kevin Barnett as announcers. I remember setting my DVR to record ahead since I flew to Irvine for the tournament. Can't wait for the episode on more of the transfer portal!

    Hoping UCLA wins MPSF Tournament. Praying my Hawai'i can win BWCT, but UH has to play its best volleyball after Spyros got injured, and they have to win 3 nights in a row. Very tough, but not impossible. If not, hope at least Hawai'i can make to the BWCT title match. There needs to be at least 4 At-Large bids to the NCAA Championship Tournament!

    I as well look forward to this segment every Mondays. The coaches panel are awesome and thank you for their time and commitment. Question I have for this week is, going into the weekend if UCI loses both their games to Long Beach they will have the same win loss record as Hawaii, providing that UH wins their two final games at UCSD this weekend. Given this, who will be seeded number two in the big West tournament next week.

    Henno was outstanding. He was also a terror serving against Hawaii. That was not mentioned. How the heck does anyone get set so much and still hit close to 50 percent. Hawaii could not stop him. They could not slow him down. They just have more good players than UC Irvine. However, UC Irvine can beat anyone on a given day. Nusterer and Todd for Hawaii are awesome servers. They serve hard and in at an extremely high rate. Add Thiim, who is more erratic but can be even more devastating, and you have problems.

    Chirping shouldn’t be allowed… it’s disrespectful to the other players, it’s disrespectful to the officials, it’s disrespectful to the game. It make’s things ugly. With this day and age of violence, someone may get hurt.. physically and /or emotionally. Coaches should be developing these young men in a positive manner. Do better people!!

  • @BerryinHI

    I know all five talked about the officials enforcing players staying within the lines & control of the chirping & trashing by players, but the coaches also need to take responsibility of how their players behave. What's even more sad is when they go at it themselves.

    When Hawaii plays newer teams, they’re “padding their stats” and they have a “weak schedule,” but when other teams play the same new teams it’s a “cool experience” and “growing the game.” Give me a break. Hawaii is in the middle of the ocean; it costs a little more to go to/from Hawaii than driving around the continent so Hawaii schedules who they can when they can.

  • @locomojoboy2
    @locomojoboy25 ай бұрын

    I still hate when Hawaii plays weak teams unless they let their B team and other newbies play for the entire time. But by even doing that they’re giving themselves less time to get their skills up with their starting team when they really need it if they hope to go far this season.

    Prior to the Hawai’i vs Stanford match last week a couple of these coaches said that Hawai’i better watch out because Stanford is a very good team. This week, crickets on their last week statements. Instead its, how will Hawai’i handle the load and who will be the other weapon because they played at home. So what I hear is, Hawai’i is not as good as their record. Never mind they spanked Stanford. I get Stanford’s go to player is out, but still, 25-7 is just embarrassing.
