I was at a magic show this evening, I didn't really want to be there, but it was in a hotel I'm staying at with some people. I was looking this up to see how it's done. You were doing the magic trick, and using the Bible to back up what you were doing!!!! That can't be right, can it? If you've committed your life to Jesus, you should get out of magic and stay away from it!

Thank you for your comment but I think there is a misunderstanding about what we do. We don’t promote “magic”. In fact we often tell groups that these are called "magic" tricks but there is no magic to them. These are illustrations and visual teaching tools. The needle through the balloon is simple science. We use illustrations like these as a way of engaging people with God’s truth and it is highly effective in engaging people who might not normally walk through the doors of a church. In fact we’ve seen over 50 people receive Christ in the past two weeks. We do not compromise or water down the Gospel and visuals help us to illustrate truths such as how sin separates us from God, or that only Jesus can forgive our sins, or like the needle through the balloon, that only Jesus can take the “sting” out of death. I hope you understand our heart and our purpose concerning what we do and do not promote. May the Lord bless you as only He can.

Let me clarify: There is a punishment for sin ("The wages of sin is death" Roman 6:23) and Jesus willingly became our substitute. Justice was pronounced against Him (who is perfect) so that forgiveness could be given to us (who are not perfect). He paid the price for our sin by His death on the cross. By His death and resurrection, He can give forgiveness and a new life in Him. This is true and is what changed my life. Hope you have a great day. "But God demonstrated his own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). .

I usually do balloon animals with a clown nose and clown makeup and socks on. The nose helps me and the makeup and socks help me get in the mood of clowning

We recommend using Qualitex brand 260 balloons. 260 (meaning 2" wide and 60" long) balloons are the standard size for balloon creations. There are also 160 and 360 balloons that come in handy depending on what you're making but definitely the 260 balloons for this one. Hope that helps.

Sure. I'm glad to share that with you so you can use it in your ministry. This illustration uses Slush powder. You can get it at threethirtyministries.com/product/slush-powder/. At the beginning two cups already have a teaspoon of slush powder in them. The third cup begin already with water in it. Knowing this, watch the video again and you'll see this is why the water isn't where you would think that it is. There are tons of spiritual illustrations that spring from this. I like using 1 John 5:12-13 and talking about being certain about salvation. I hope that helps.

The hardest part for me is always which way to twist and then as I progress and move it around I forget which way I twisted.... Hopefully that makes sense? Thanks for these videos. It's a great idea and I want to be a part of it for our church...
