I wouldn't really call it a rivalry. We were best friends back in Hollywood Upstairs Magic The Gathering School (Go Lavabears!). I got my doctorate and left, he stayed behind to teach. It was more a parting of ways.

Your last game versus Mono Red was hard to watch, you forgot about being able to pump your Hired Claw and you threw away your Fireglass Mentor which was your card advantage. Also in several games you forgot that Gev pings when you cast the lizard, so you would have gotten the +1/+1 counter when it entered just for casting it.

The commons and and uncommons won't take you long. Getting at the rares may take a while. I was able to put this together today because: 1) I play a few hours every day, rack up my daily gold, and buy nothing but packs. 2) After I collect the whole set, I save my money for the rest of the season to lay down on the next set. I have watched videos in the past that say the easiest way to get card fast and cheap is to draft. Earn enough to draft, then if you place well enough, you get to keep your cards from the draft and earn your entry fee back. Do that enough and you can pick up a lot of cards.

I’m about to watch the video, but I had to pause at the deck tech to share some thoughts! I’ve been hung up on Sultai Control. It gives access to the Loch Whales, Three Steps Ahead, Deduce, and the manlands. Also Jace in the sideboard! 4 Cornucopia can help ramp and stay alive, but also open up for Atraxa play! I also like Path of Peril for those token deck matchups lol

Negative. They changed the rules of Standard rotation last year so that sets last for 3 years rather than 2. Everything after New Capenna is staying in Standard for another year. Gwenna will be legal until Fall of 2025. mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Standard

Au contraire mon frère. That is old standard rules. The new standard has toxic in play for another year. This deck is rotation proof. The sets we are losing at the end of July are the two Innistrads, Kamigawa, and New Capenna. P.S. The worst mechanic IMHO was Infect. "This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters." Toxic is tame in comparison.

It especially works as some added defense, and scales with more of itself + Shivan Devastator, as the treasures you get when it dies can pump your X creatures even further.

I agree. Ferox is a good card, lots of value. It is just not the show boat that you can get for 6 or 7 mana. I think that Ferox is a moneyball champion.

Win rate data from Arena mostly tells you which are the most idiot proof decks, not the best. It's always aggressive decks because their loss floor is so low and they're easy to pilot, generally. The best decks win % gets hurt by being played poorly by bad players.

Pretty sweet deck, i wonder if theres a better replacement for Godrick? Doesnt seem to contribute much to the combo kill, the token plan, nor the control angle of the deck. Cant think of a good replacement off the top of my head though, maybe more lifegain of some kind like a life linker?
