Hiya James, some great pickups this month! I am French; I sometimes buy movies when I am in the UK that have not come out on Bluray or 4k in France and the UK blurays play just fine on the 4k blu ray player in France but vice versa is also true (thanks to the reg. b lock)! Also, most of the special features on French physical media is not dubbed but subtitled nowadays so it should be fine for english speakers to watch (dont know if you can turn off the french subs but might be possible). Most menus on French blu rays and 4ks even are available in English (they used to be translated on DVDs though, because you sometimes you had less language options).

BHC is an absolute classic 80s buddy cop film. Synths were a big thing back then so everyone loved the theme, us old 80s geezers still get nostalgic when something like that gets played again. I think sometimes films from a certain time period don’t gel well to someone that never grew up with it. I can say the same for The Phantom Menace, us oldies don’t like it as much as a 10 year old that saw it in 1999.

You have to understand that the BHC theme was exclusive to this film. It was popular before Crazy Frog. This film made Eddie Murphy a big star and at the time the story was unique. Personally I think he's great in it but each to their own mate.

Really didn't predict that review, usually agree with you on most things James but think your way off with this one! 😅 It's probably one of the best films of the 80's in my opinon! You definitely won't like the rest if you didn't like the first! Good luck 🤣

Watchers was directed by Shyamalan’s daughter Ishana she definitely has her father’s flair for the mysterious. I really enjoyed this one, Dakota was good too.

Dude but bad boys 2 was way to excessive and offensive critics even complained about that and a result of Michael bay being known to make an excessive films the 1995 original wasn’t as excessive and didn’t portray women as sex objects along with having a more coherent plot and understanding how long an action scene should last.
@carsonpeterson75820 күн бұрын
It’s a great movie it had great charachter development and a story that makes sense it was bay’s first so then he knew how to make a film that was conprehensible and had a coherent story along with charachters to root for and be invested with.

The Elizabeth films are good, the Golden Age is wonderfully swashbuckling with Clive Owen as a rather charming Walter Raleigh. Has real thin pickings recently at the CEXs I’ve visited (get round a few as I work around the country).

The movie was stupid and had no logic especially considering of what I heard these type of movies don’t have to be mind numbing my stupid and ridiculous even 2012 and especially day after tommorow had logic and a realistic portrayal of end of the world disaster.

Ready Player One, is Absolutely Superb, especially if your a gamer, there's SO many game references in it, I don't think you could ever spot them all. Highly recommend. Also I STILL haven't seen your review of 'The Town' the 4k you bought back in like 2020 or something (seems like a lifetime ago) . . . hint hint, lol. Great video as always James, keep up the great work. Also Escape From Pretoria, very good, not my usual type of film but really enjoyed it, and although I probably would pay a tenner for it, I'd definitely pick it up if it was like £6 or less. Oh and ''The Last Crusade' is by far my favourite, I recently picked up the boxset on Blu-ray and re-watched them all, brought back some childhood memories.

I have to say that Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is the best one of the five. Instead of having a love interest or partner, Indiana has the relationship with his estranged dad, which strikes me as being more intriguing. Harrison Ford also loved working with Sean Connery on set.

I actually bought Minari on Blu-Ray, the last time I was in HMV Braehead in Glasgow. I found Minari a really fascinating film. (Lancaster my home town of Kirkcaldy (Kurr-caw-dee) have a rather special link. They were both major producers of linoleum. The largest firms in both places would eventually merge and the newly merged company became based here in Kirkcaldy.)
