I love this Motorhome and it would be at the top of my list. Do they do it on a Mercedes chassis/cab?
Unfortunately, at this moment in time, they don't do it on a Mercedes chassis.
@@NickWhaleMotorhomes Thank You. Disappointed.
We also have the steering wheel on the wrong side,
A lot of people love a left hand drive
Great clip. Can you drive this on a standard UK driver license?
You'll need C1 on your licence as it's over 3500kgs.
Hello. I just found your video. How much is the Flash 500 worth? Ours got 37000 km on it. Can you name me a price range?
Sorry this is an old video so the price would have changed now. Have a look on Auto Trader and see what they're selling for would be my advice.
Nice video mate thanks currently looking at a 2008 model of this (due to budget) anything to look for that you know about as I’m new to this?
Hi Dave, Always get a habitation check done before completing, getting yourself a damp meter would also be good advice.
Where is the TV?
The TV bracket is on a drop down from the cupboard directly behind the passenger seat.
Many cans 1.5m longer can be driven on Cat B, so not sure that’s a selling point
CORRECTION: At 7 minutes 58 seconds, Andy states that the M-Star is "plated at 8,330 Kg" - This is WRONG. It is actually plated at 3,880Kg. We apologise for this, and Andy has had a telling off! 🙂
I can't see the point in having seats that long, in a van that length I would have expected a separate bedroom.
Hi, the benches are that long so they can be used as two single berths instead of a double if you wish. The bathroom does have a separate shower cubicle too.
the seats are not long Andy is short
@@mikepaterson6236 lol, bit of both
Put a curtain up.
@@rntcalkins I wasn't thinking of privacy just seems a lot of wasted space, you might as well have a 6 mtr van.
Waste water tank looks very low to the floor, whats your opinion
Time will tell but I haven't heard of any issues so far. You'd like to think that it had been looked in to prior to release though.
What weight is it
Hi Alan, It's 3880kgs
The weight of the waist tank is what? Is that your question? Things getting messed up in this thread.
@@rntcalkins all the tech spec will be at Auto-Sleepers, please follow the link: auto-sleepers.com/campervans/mercedes/m-star
great video , cheers
Our please Geoff, glad you enjoyed it.
Love that colour
The Lanzarote Grey is lovely!
It should have a full dinette and full slimline fridge.
It's a bit too short for a double dinette but the half dinette works works well in such a short unit, same with the fridge.
@@NickWhaleMotorhomes I know; I'm saying that they should have designed it so that it had a full dinette and full fridge.
It can be done, just needs a longer unit.
Nice to see a decent living area for rainy days (long sofa and swivel chairs) and a sofa with a view out of the side door, but that bed looks too narrow to be comfortable for 2. Maybe transverse bed with the washroom opposite the kitchen would be an alternative use of space 👍
My thought exactly - such a big van to have such a narrow bed. And I loved the sofa but presumably means no ability to carry passengers. Would be a palace for a solo traveller - in fact too much space for one but just wouldnt work for two in that bed.
Hi Chris The bed is deceptively large and gives the opportunity for the washroom to slot in next to it. Everything is based on your needs but it does work really well.
Hi Rob It's deceptively large, but certainly a two person van with the front settee.
@@NickWhaleMotorhomesNot really, I just checked the website and bed is 120cm at the widest end, which is exacly the same as a California Ocean. A real squeeze for two but it is do-able. The compromise makes sense on a short wheelbase 5m long Cali but something this big its a bad design to not have a wider bed. Plus the bed is only that width at the top - it tapers to what looks like 80cm at the bottom, so someones feet are going to be falling out of the bed!
@@MadBerks-nk4yq it all depends on your perspective and what's important to you. That's why they make so many different layouts. What works for one, doesn't work for everyone.
Absolutely fantastic van and review but, jeez, you need to look at your prices mate - there’s a few dealers you can get brand new LT’s (with and without drop-down bed) and MQ’s for nearly 13 grand less than you’re charging. The market is, slowly, changing - forecourt’s are getting full of new stock.
Hi Chrisp The price depends greatly on the spec, the van may be the same basic layout but the spec can be vastly different. We'd always look to do something for you on the price though, give us a call and we'll see what we can do.
I really like these layouts but in reality the options I would get is being cramped in the rear bed or cramped in the front bed since I doubt either would accomdate a 6ft tall person with enough room .
You'd be surprised but all layouts depend on you're needs. It's always the most important thing to find the right one.
Is it insulated for all season use this little bit of important information always seems to be missed out in these reviews?
@@rosswhittleton6277 most vans these days will be grade 3 but it really depends on where you're planning to go. Extra insulation can always be added.
That’s one heck of a motor home!
Absolute cracker, shame they don't do the 5m unit anymore, but the 5.4m is top van as well.
@@NickWhaleMotorhomes Say, what’s the price on one of those beasts?
@@willienelsongonzalez4609 We don't have a 5m unit in stock anymore I'm afraid, but the 5.4m units will be on our website.
Love the washroom far better than the Auto Sleeper Symbol, just needs a microwave to make it perfect.
It really is a fantastic layout.
There’s an “H” in motorhome 😉
Where is the bed on top of the dinning table? 😢
Hi That's correct, the table drops down to become the base.
Much better than the American counterparts.
It's a lovely model, and a really flexible layout.
Hi Nick what is lowest the back bed goes down to.thanks.
Hi Steve The bed does need a ladder for access even at it's lowest point. The cupboards under the bed drop to just above the back rests.
In the Altairs is the washroom a wet room? There’s no obvious shower curtain or partition except for the door into it. How do those lockers and other fittings cope with being soaked day after day?
Hi Phil You are correct there is no screen or curtain. WildAx would probably be able to advise you better but we haven't been made aware of any issues with this design. In all fairness if it was causing any problems I'm sure they would have changed the design.
Thank you. I have learned so much !!!
That's great, hopefully it's helpful.
❤
er hadt wel een wasmachine in gekeukt!
Sorry, no washing machine.
We have the 545 (island bed) it’s a great van, sat nav can also be programmed to take the vehicle dimensions which is a great addition
Hi Chris It really is a fantastically put together machine, and the layout is ideal for UK owners.
That's beautiful. Nice video too
Thank you Will, you're right it really is a nice motorhome.
for that price i would expect a bigger sat nav screen
It's a good size but you could always Bluetooth to a tablet if you required anything bigger.
Euro's are very lucky that their designers do the extra large storage bay behind the rear wheels. We have almost no Class C's with that extra large storage bay over here in N/A....other than the grotesquely large so called "toy haulers."
It's a great layout as it offers UK layout but with the large storage area.
Beautiful motorhome, hopefully in a few years they will come out with a 6 berth & 5 seatbelt configuration for young families
Keep an eye on the website, if they make it we'll do a video on it.
Congratulation on becoming an authorised dealer for Coachman Motorhomes. That's a lovely motorhome with some nice innovation.
Thank you, we're really pleased to be dealers for such a fantastic franchise.
Excellent overview - I pick up my new Aurora Leisure 6m automatic on Friday - cannot wait 😀
It's a really nice model, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Great video Andy, this is the way to go, I wonder could the lithium batteries be upgraded or supplemented with extra batteries. What are the services Nick Whale offer, thinking of extra vehicle lights, rear camera, dash cams, audio upgrades
Hi Ian Thank you for the great review of the video. Most things can be done or a variation along the same line. Attila our aftersales manager would be the person to speak to on all things upgraded or supplemented though. Give him a call, he'll be more than happy to help.
Maravillosa Distribución.
It really is a nice layout.
I bought a 373 from Nick Whale four years ago. It has been perfect with absolutely no quality issues. The garage is massive and easily takes two full size e-bikes along with everything else. I’m a little surprised Andy didn’t mention one of the biggest benefits - there is no wood in the bodywork so nothing to get damp and degrade over the years which is a really big deal as your van gets older. Our habitation checks are perfect after four years. I also appreciated the advice (without a hard sell) I got from the team when I was considering which van might suit me. Nobody has asked me to write these comments.
Thank you for your comments. It's really nice to hear that you're enjoying the van and you're experience with us has been a positive one.

How much is the small RV. Looking for one 🐕🦺🐾
This one has now been sold I'm afraid but we do a 5.4m version which we have in stock. Please follow the link: www.nickwhalemotorhomes.co.uk/wildax-pulsarMK2-23078V2
Would like to have seen wet room through the door
Hi Pamela It's difficult to get a good angle in the washrooms unfortunately. We try to get the best shots we can.
So at 6k miles, why is kit on the market?
Hi Tony I couldn't possibly explain. Sometimes vans that you would think would stick for a while move very quickly. Sometimes vans that should move within hours of being advertised don't. We've had plenty of interest but the market does slow during the winter months too.
For more space kitchen now a day not necessary anymore cze can cook by cooker so just need a table. For bathroom it's only use when it's stop so not necessarily to have permanent
Hi Everyone is looking for something different. It's great that there are so many types of layout on the market.
Nice layout and size, and like the U shaped lounge. Does it come with nicer lighter cloth upholstery and lighter paintwork as it's all a bit dark for me?
Upholstery can always be changed. I've attached a link for all options on the Altair for you: wildaxmotorhomes.com/models/altair-rs/
That's a nice van. We have the CV40 but I like this as it has the U shape lounge and you could sleep lengthways. I think I'll come and have a look in the new year. Thanks for sharing.
We look forward to seeing you then. Just give us a call before you travel to make sure it's still available.
Very nice ❤❤
Thank you
My dream van , one of those would suit me down to the ground . Now just got to get hold of 50 large ??
Hi Simon Whenever you're ready you're more than welcome to come and have a look around one.
@@NickWhaleMotorhomes Thanks for the reply , am always watching your web site and looking at your stock , have seen a few lovely vans on there that would also work for me , just waiting on the lottery win 😉👍
Andy you cheer me up no end and remember in this motorhome it's not one goes to bed all goes to bed 😂😂😂😂
Thanks Pete, I'll remember that, lol.
Hi Andy you and I spoke back in 2021 when you were still edwards motorhomes and one go to bed was always one of your favourite lines I did try to see you at the motorhome show mate but you must of been at the loo cause I didn't see you at the stand I.m due to retire at the end of 2024 I may come over to nick whales to see you Andy ok take care pal ohh love the bloopers segment as well.
Cheers Pete, I do remember talking to you, It'll be good to see you, come and see us when you're ready. I was all over the place at the NEC unfortunately, looking after the rest of the team. Glad you're enjoying the videos. Look after yourself and I'm sure we'll speak soon.
Good point about the even wear. Whilst we were fine with the seating as a mattress we bought some Duvalay toppers (5cm) and it made quite a difference and I guess doesn't wear the covers quite as much.
That's correct and a valid point. Duvalay's are always a good option.
Another nice van nicely presented. I'm at the stage of just having passed a year of first-time van ownership thinking - what next? To be fair I'm happy with what we have but the auto would be nice.
Layout is all important but the new auto boxes are nice. When you're ready to start looking give us a call, we'll see what we can do to help.
Is there a similar van with rear lounger available?
good question
You'll find plenty with the half dinette in the front or a rear lounge but I haven't personally seen a half dinette and rear lounge in a 5.4m van conversion unfortunately.
