  I think the best translation of 到底 in English is "just exactly". It asks for a final clarification. For example: 你到底是谁? = "Just exactly who are you?"

  白 should be "in vain" (and not "in vine"). We usually say "for nothing". For example: 白跑一趟 = "make a trip for nothing"

  这道菜是机器人做的 = "This dish was made by a robot" We are taught that the 是…的 construction expresses the manner in which something was done. But when 是 is followed by a person (or robot), then this is the 'passive voice'. The 'active voice' would be: 机器人做了这道菜 = "A robot made this dish"

  我觉得 “买俩苹果” 有点奇怪。 因为 “俩” 意味着 “两个人”。 例如：我们俩，你们俩，他们俩，而已。

  我觉得 “咱们” 除了说话的人，也包括听话的人。例如： “我们出去看电影，你呆在家里” 不能说 “咱们” 因为听话的人不参加出去的人。
