Question. Can this condition cause a lump inside the neck and be surrounded by liquid? My husband had a biopsy which they drained fluid. Couldn't see so recently did another biopsy and drained a bit more liquid. Lump is much smaller looking due to this being done but can still be felt under the skin

We're sorry to learn that you have symptoms you're concerned about, and I imagine this is a worrying time for you. The signs and symptoms of lymphoma are more commonly associated with other, less serious conditions, like an infection, for example. We would suggest to anyone who is worried about symptoms, to contact their doctor to talk these through, and to get advice, so we hope you will feel able to do this, with a view of seeking reassurance. We hope the information is helpful, and that you're able to chat soon with your doctor. We send our best wishes, and hope your symptoms settle down soon.

We'd suggest going back to speak with your doctor, if you're not clear on what may be happening for you. The symptoms of lymphoma are considered to be very common symptoms, that are usually linked to other conditions, less serious conditions, lymphoma would be more rare. However, it is important to continue to seek guidance if you're not comfortable with how things have been left. We send our best wishes, and hope you will feel able to reach out to your doctor.

I was sorry to learn of your breast cancer diagnosis, and that you have also been diagnosed with lymphoma. I imagine that this may be a difficult time. Very often, why someone has developed lymphoma will be unknown, but we know that it won't be something that you've done, or not done, that has caused this; lifestyle factors are not generally linked to lymphoma. There can be risk factors that can mean someone may go on to develop lymphoma, but the risk is still very small. We have some information on what we do know about the causes of lymphoma, and this can be found here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/about-lymphoma-what-lymphoma/causes-and-risk-factors-lymphoma#otherfactors You'll see this gives details on cell changes that can happen in our bodies. It's really natural to think about what may have caused this, and I hope our information the causes may be of some help. We send our best wishes to you.

We would also usually suggest if you are experiencing symptoms that are bothering you, you get them checked out with a doctor.
