An artist who daylights as a working mom.
I am working on growing my art business to the point that I can quit my day job. Along the way, I will share my artistic process and what I am learning to help educate, empower, and increase transparency in creative communities. It is my hope that by doing so fellow artists, such as yourself, will feel encouraged to stop putting their calling on the back burner and start pursuing their dream of becoming a full-time artist with confidence.
Don't quit your daydream...

Uhhhhh ohhhh!!!
Just downloaded everyday, and looks like a great app! I can't wait to be better everyday. Thank you for sharing
You're so welcome! 😄
Fantastic video! Surprised there’s not more views. This was so inspiring.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it!! 🤗
Great video! Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Sorry if I seem stiff in this video! I am not used to doing sit down videos and I scripted this in advance so that I wouldn't ramble or forget anything. Also, Idk how I got 82 hours when I wrote the script but Toggl said 84. Cést la vie. I hope you like it anyways! Please subscribe, I am trying to get to 1000 subs!!
Good job Allison!! We enjoyed all your videos.
Glad you like them!
I’m so glad you included the video with Myca. It was the best. Look how much she’s grown. Great video
Wowowow what a cool video 10/10 would watch again 🥸

19:40 lol that effect did not render at all like it was supposed to AND I spelled cancelled wrong. C’est la vie, on to the next one
My anxietyyyyyy; my nerves couldn’t handle it. I’m so un-chill. It all works out but my brain is creating parallels to “The Out-of-Towners”. Thanks to Nick saving the day!!! 😭😭
Hahaha! Thankfully the area we were in was pretty chill, so it’s wasn’t scary, but without Nick we would have missed a good portion of the concert. Nick was our savior!! 🙏
That was nice that he gave you the bottle of wine so your visit (money) to the wine tasting wasn’t completely wasted
ANDDDD that person with the empty exhibit totally played the museum
Hahaha frfr and the champagne added a nice touch to our gondola ride 🍾
the opera was sick.
It wassss
Baaaaaby ❤❤❤

Great video 😊
Thanks! 😊
I found the French shop quite expensive. You can get great quality for half that money anywhere in Europe. But the Venetian store... *I need this* I might travel there just to buy a set or two. 🤩
Charvin was expensive, I will admit, but there weren't a lot of other shops that were near the sites we planned to visit and I wanted art supplies that were specifically made in France. And I would absolutely recommend visiting the store in Venice!
@@allisonsedar Sennelier, Rafael, Isabey. I went to Sennelier's factory or whatever it's called. They show you how they make their pigments and the hives where they make honey to bind their watercolours, their history, their papers, etc. It's quite interesting. Most of the stores I've found while travelling were by chance, and they were rather small so I admit I'm not the best for recommendations.
Europe? What country!
Hi Lola! The items in the video are from France and Italy. I have some vlogs about my trip up on my channel if you'd like to check them out, more coming soon!
Love your video of Paris!! Our favorite city on earth!
It really is! Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful country, beautiful couple.
Thank you! 😃
We really enjoyed your video! Love the artwork and seeing all the sites.
Thank you!!
awesome intro!
Thank you!
Hey Allison! Great video. Nicely done. 😊
Thank you!! 🥰
I definitely think the pigments were brittle because they were so liquidy, when I mix paints I don’t use water I use 1:1 gum Arabic and pigment with 2 small drops of glycerin per pan they dry quicker that way and don’t crack as much. Your watercolours are still very useable though! I need to go to this shop when I visit
Also if you ever visit Italy again I suggest a shop in Florence called zecchi
Also if you ever visit Italy again I suggest a shop in Florence called zecchi
Thanks for the suggestion! Being a complete newb I didn't realize that the instructions probably meant to use dry gum arabic mixed with water. Now I'll know and I can either use less or pick up some dry gum arabic for next time :)
probably a paint muller would make it a lot easier - you would be able to grind the pigment a lot finer and sometimes that changes the colour depending on how fine you grind it!
A safety thing - wear a mask when you are mixing your paints - some of the pigments can be a bit toxic.
Good tip! Thanks!
You need a muller for watercolors , and I advice to make the binder not to thin.
They offer a catalog (Cheap Joe’s)😬
Cheap Joe’s Art Supply Carrie’s the French Charvin line of paints, if I remember correctly. You might be able to add to what you purchased while in France!
Oooo interesting, I haven't heard of them, I'll check them out!
Omg soooo beautiful! Looking forward to the next video
Great video. I love it
this trip is the highest on my bucket list!! this is so beautiful!!
You can do it!!
Omg my ocd just went through the roof😂
Lol what can I say it was my first place when I left my parents home hahaha
You have to mull them for quite a while or they will end up grainy
This is amazing ❤ I wish I can visit the shops one day ✨
Thank you! I’m sure will get there 🥰
I love the little pigment collection, so beautiful and such love put into the packaging! I believe that the recipe the store owner gave you might have been for dry gum arabic not the already hydrated version (in the bottle) so that may be why the paint was a little liquidy :) I have a recipe and easy tutorial if you want to learn more over on my channel, but you are correct that each pigment mixes differently, some need more binder, some need less - honey and glycerin will really help with the cracking and rewetting. I am so excited for you to keep on playing with your pigments, it is really fun and rewarding :) Thanks for sharing 💕
Ohh that makes sense, that’s probably why it said to add water! I will definitely check out your channel so I can learn more for my next crack at it. I am going to get a mulling plate soon at another person’s recommendation so I should be able to try again soon!
Thank you!
You’re welcome! I hope it helps!
Woot!
