This is exactly why I follow and love Simpson products. Mass timber mixed with steel is amazing in looks and function
Thanks for the love!
Fantastic work - I make large hangar doors. They are moving structures with vibration, and shock loading. I love to see thinking engineers that understand materials. great job
We appreciate it!
It's 20 bucks a bolt
Hello, an epoxy anchor can hold a concrete overhang in a construction.
Hello, this is a great question. Unfortunately, there are some unknowns we'd likely need to know. We offer free engineering services, and they should be able to point you in the right direction. You can reach those services at: (800) 999-5099. Thank you!
Lord have mercy....i like that!
Can I use 5/8 Titan HD stainless steel with the ABA66Z post base? I couldn't find 6" mechanically galvanized bolts a Lowes.
Hi, thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, there are too many unknowns that we're unable to address through social media. However, we do offer free engineering services that can answer your question. If you call 800-999-5099 they can connect you with an engineer who can make product recommendations. Best, Jade
SET XP was $50 for the dual tube and the new SET 3G is $98!! 😳
Do you have drywall screws for sale? I want to buy this kind of gun to install drywall
Thank you
"ABUシリーズの日本での提供は予定されていますか?" Will the ABU series be available in Japan?
Are 2 APT connectors enough to provide a post to beam connection or will additional uplift or racking protection be required assuming normal conditions?
These look great but what about uplift? Is the beam just held down by gravity?
Hi! Thanks for your question. For ACBH, SCBH, uplift is typically not a significant design concern with the significant downloads placed on the connections. With this product you can also utilize SDWC15600 screws. Please reach out with any other questions! Best, Jade
anyone here in 2024?
If adding your Strong Steel Shearwall (24") to an exisiting structure, can we use the SET-3G adhesive to help anchor the included threaded rods into the concrete?
Hi! Thanks for your question. We give cast in place design info using our anchor bolts; but when they pour and then want to use SET3G later that is for the engineer on record to specify and design the application. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out at (800) 999-5099. Best, Jade

Galvanized, not stainless steel.
😮
These are honestly my go-to fastener for SO many applications requiring high strength in exterior situations. Deck guard posts, ledger attachment, pergola knee-brace attachments, etc. Easy to use, fast, and strong as hell.
How come nobody talks about covering the metal with about a half inch of Wax? Especially anywhere you are throwing salt down over it. It is cheaper than a can of exterior paint. On the underside there's not as much wind nor is there foot traffic nor is there direct sunlight... I don't know of another way that is better to keep the joist hangers in brand new condition over 30 years
Most of these connectors are available in stainless steel for ultimate corrosion protection.
Rock on!

Me, a chilean: "...that little nudge was an earthquake?!"
i saw the employment information for 3D artist video position from Simpson Strong-tie Vietnam , so i would like to apply this position , can i send to you some porfolio ?
Wow I want to be a Simpson Strong Tie guy. How amazing would that be to see and hear in person!! 😮
💥 1:48 That many screws are required to fasten the ledger to the house.?? I counted almost 40 just in what looked like 8 feet.?? I probably would have used 8 - 1/2” lag screws or bolts
Hi! What about when hitting the rebar? Cheers!
Hi! Thank you for your question. In general, care should be taken in placing post-installed anchors to avoid conflicts with existing rebar. Before drilling through existing rebar, a licensed building design professional should review the installation to ensure the strength of the structure is not compromised. After drilling through/cutting the rebar, depending on the size and location of the existing rebar, installation of the Titen HD and Strong-Bolt 2 may be affected and prevent proper installation. At that point an Adhesive Anchor with threaded rod like our SET-3G high-strength epoxy would be a recommended alternate solution. We hope this helps! Best, Jade
This robot has a terrible voice.
It really is amazing how much artificial voices have evolved in the five years since this video was posted. 🤖
What could be extrapolated for a Type IV-B project?
Would this work for a 12-story building?
How do you attach to the top plate if it's on upsloping roof/header?
Good question, also wondering about this!
Odd that I just found this video and the product line 7 years after this was posted… and I am the first person to comment. Strange.
When we started on KZread we didn't have anyone to manage online community service, so all of our KZread comments were disabled. I believe it was two years ago when the social team started working backwards to activate comments on our older videos.
Wish the program was more on a line base rather then boxed in to add different styles of fencing and it’s unfortunate that the maximum footage is 300’ x2.
the gabled pergola in the opening
i lofe tthis so much where do i find it?
I want to order this exact one! Where do I find it? Thanks!
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. Check out all our outdoor solutions here: www.strongtie.com/homeowners/projects#relax.
Very nice exactly what we want to build, do you have plans or pictures?
This was built and designed by a customer. Unfortunately, we don't have the plans for his beautiful pergola.
COOL, Thanks for the video 👍
We're happy you enjoyed! Do you receive our connector catalog?

Construction fellow deserves this tool 👏👏👍
This is the kind of innovation we need to see more of. THANKS SIMPSON.
👏 👏
Please make more technical videos about those connections. I'm a structural engineer and I enjoyed that 👍
Thanks for the feedback! We will share this with the team.
The product names are so confusing
I'd wager that engineers named them.
What if the home is a URM with no substrate backing. Just double brick?
A 2” bearing plate fits this z max. Will the washer also work? I can’t find the info anywhere and 2” bearing plate is special order item not sold with the strong ties in Home Depot. Only 2.5” and 3” or washers.
we want see how it work , everyone knows how to set it up loll
