    Hey man! Sorry to hear what happened. I’ve been finessed by dealerships before and I’m paying the price for it now. You got a keeper, marry that woman. She holds it down for you. Looks like you drive a civic, can’t go wrong with that reliability. Stay positive, you live and you learn. Trust me it’s hard i also want to get a 4Runner rn but how the market is right now I would wait. It’s a blessing in disguise. Just be patient, work hard and things will come to you. It’s no problem, it’s truly a lesson I have to learn for being ungrateful and trading in my 2021 Tacoma, just too soon! We do get married next year by the way! The civic is hers but I do drive us mostly and she is an elite passenger princess. It is unfortunate because the 4 Runner was amazing. I am going through another challenge at the moment $. Doing the best I can because I do not want to live an average life. I must make it because there’s a lot id like to help other people with knowing the struggles of paying bills. • @HiPlains1
    @HiPlains124 күн бұрын

    People say the 3rd gen Frontier copies the 3rd gen Taco. That's absolutely NOT true. The third gen taco has an inferior 6 speed transmission that shifts early, torque starved and endlessly searches gears. Then they bolted that up to the 3.5 Camry motor that was something they had on the shelve that was never developed for truck applications. Its was always a shit drive train combo. The seat position was also horrible making the driver sit too low. Ergonomic nightmare. Whereas Nissan spend the time and money to develop a new VQ 3.8DI motor for truck applications. Used a Daimler Benz 9 speed that was proven and did a great job mapping and tuning it for the frontier. As for Yota's 4th gen its a better truck in many ways but insanely overpriced for the mid size segment. I don't think it will sell nearly as well and they already have to discount to move them. Something unheard of for Yota. Not sure how reliable it will be as their 3.4 is having bearing failures and they already recalled 100K motors. Which is just the tip of the iceberg. A complete design defect IMO. My advice is don't buy a taco unless you can find a clean second gen (without rust) or buy the current 4 runner before they convert that to their TNGA platform.

  • @shooks555

    All good trucks IMO. And the 2015 was the last good Tacoma year using the bullet proof 4 liter and 5 speed auto. Just make sure it does not have rust issues. Also the Frontiers from around 2015-2019 were bullet proof with the VQ 40 motor and 5 speed. It was even better then Yota's 4 liter IMO. I have a 2019 Pro 4X and that truck is a tank. Can't say enough good things about it. Unlike the Yota it uses a fully boxed frame and has rear disc brakes. The dana 44 rear locker is rock solid. My 8 way power seat is still much better then the second gen Yota. The best thing they make is the current 4 runner. Better seats, more room in back, and still has the 4 liter. For now. But not for long as it will be converted to that miserable TNGA platform.

  • @ChrisGarcia.25
    @ChrisGarcia.2523 күн бұрын

    If you absolutely need a truck bed, I’m more on the side of Frontier because as I mentioned in the video you get, more horsepower power plus a transmission that makes accelerating when you need it a breeze, no gear hunting which was annoying with the Tacoma unless you get it tuned like I did, the Frontier also feels more like a truck because of heavier steering. Test drive both a 3rd Gen and the Frontier for some time and you will see.

    @@ChrisGarcia.25 If I were in the market the current 4 runner would be the only Toyota I'd consider. Once it converts over to the TNGA platform i'm out. But in all honestly I would probably pick up a low mileage GX 460. Its based off the same J150 chassis as the toyota Prado land cruiser and there are many lift kits available if you want to mod. Its got more room, power (4.6 V8) and better ride then the 4 runner. Its a beast. But they quit making new ones. They just keep killing off the bullet proof body on frames. If you got some bucks go all he way and buy a 2021 Land cruiser model 200 with the 5.7 V8. I think 2021 was the last year made. That is the real deal and its so overbuilt it will outlast human life. Honestly I’d have to say my main gripe with the 3rd Gen Tacoma over the Frontier is the lack of power plus more comfort when taking long road trips. How are you liking your Tacoma though?

  • @deantrainr
    @deantrainr25 күн бұрын

    Haven’t had the chance yet of driving a frontier however I test drove a 2024 Tacoma trd off-road and currently owning a 2022 third gen Tacoma, wasn’t impressed. Yes, the 2024 Tacoma has great low end torque and the 8-speed transmission is a change for the better but the rest of the 4th gen Tacoma is cheap in my opinion. Glad you like the Nissan over the Tacoma.👍🏻

  • @HiPlains1
    @HiPlains123 күн бұрын

    It may look cheap but its very expensive lol. The biggest drawback on the new taco is the price. Its simply not competitive in the segment. When you can buy a ZR 2 for 49K and a TRD pro cost 65K then there is a problem. Basically a low trim SR 5 at 45K cost the same as nicer Ranger XLT with FX 4 package for the same price. I've seen those two side by side and the taco looks like a cheap work truck in comparison. To get refinement on the new Tacoma you have to spend about 55K. Insanity. And probably why the only ones really selling well are the top trims with the premium package. Because everything else looks like a bucket of cheap hard plastics.

    Sorry to say Toyota in North America is crap. Import an older JDM or buy the remaining 4 runner here now. Or buy last year's GX 460. If you have bucks buy a model 200 land cruiser. Last year made was 2021. Used prices are around 60 to 90K. And worth every penny. And will out live you. Yes, its that over built.

    @@ChrisGarcia.25 I test drove the 22 frontier and it was very nice. But not enough to move from my low mileage 2019 PRO 4X. There were some things I didn 't like. The front seats no longer have tilt. My 8 way power seat on my 19 is more comfortable for me. Plus they took away the power seat for the passenger side. I mean WTH? You seat a bit higher on the second gen. The back seat lost almost an inch on the new one. Basically they had the ergonomics nailed down in 2005 and should have left well alone. Put in the bigger center stack/gauge cluster etc.. into the old truck would have been perfect for me. I do like that my truck is port injected. But no getting around that with the CAFE restrictions.

    It was an awesome truck without a doubt , idk your financial situation but $800 is a high payment , you should’ve definitely weighed your options prior to checking the vehicle out , when I purchased my Corolla Apex it was preowned with 32k miles and was $21k, I put down $9k after working hard and saving money and my payment came out to $307. I learned my lesson on my first purchase so I went in there knowing what I was getting myself into and what I wanted from the purchase. But don’t stress it bro , i had buyers remorse on my first vehicle and I was also depressed and dealt with a lot of anxiety, but stay strong bro , I still deal with it till this day , we all have shitty days , we’re human , you have a good wife holding you up and having your back and that’s the best when you’re going through it, idk about your religion views but keep faith in God and in your prayers. Listen to some uplifting music. That’s helped me a lot. Stay strong bro

    Congrats on the new 4 Runner and underground looks so good! As far as I know the only two solutions is to apply PPF (Paint Protection Film) to protect the front of the car. As for the windshield, there are hood deflectors that I’ve seen others install if you don’t mind how it makes your ride look with the added accessory

    U get ur money’s worth from Auxito led products. Those particular one, I would prefer for interior use. Because they produce 2W. For constant on daily, they can last for couple years from my experience. The higher the wattage, with constant use. The shorter the lifespan. If u had the other Auxito led bulbs T10 with 14 led diodes. And makes 1.2W, those are better balanced and will last much longer. And better for exterior use. But in general, the Auxito led bulbs are one of my most recommendations products. And these are excellent bulbs ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

    Nice, I also did this to my Toyota 2017 Mirai. BUT there’s an issue with the interior front light. After turning the vehicle completely off there’s like a parasitic draw. The light is not on or car but a faint light can be seen in the dark, drawing power even though car is off.
