Live From The Basement

Live From The Basement

Live From The Basement is on a quest to shine a light on the musical and cultural background behind hip-hop. We host insightful artist interviews, showcases and more, celebrating the culture we love by talking to iconic performers who made (and keep making) rap history.

We have been running our podcast for over 10 years independently: eventually, our vision expanded into a multi-textural and eclectic show focusing on several aspects of hip-hop culture and discussion.

With an ever increasing passion and dedication, Live From The Basement still aims to feature thought-provoking and insightful content bridging the gaps between music, culture and lifestyle.

Ooo you hit it right on the head when you said, the music today (shit been like this for a good minute if you ask me) is all shiny and how NWA was straight grimy. I've been calling it brag rap. Nothing like it used to be

The movie was way too focused on Dre and never showed the success of Ruthless after he left NWA. Easy E, Ren, Yella, BG Knocc Out, Gangsta Dresta and Sylk continued to produced solid songs after NWA broke up.
