Love my 2014 Molten Orange, I am going to keep it forever. Yep, blend door actuators, the banes of our existence. By the way, I think all STs came with a cargo cover that lifted with the hatch. Mine has it, perhaps they lost or broke theirs before you bought it. You're going to love the car overall. I upgraded the intake and bought an accessport tuned it to level 1 it made a difference, and I also upgraded to Sync3 with Android Auto, added an adapter to USB to make the connection wireless.

I am watching this video for the first time when im leaving this comment, but the day before you posted this video I made a deal for a tastefully moded 2011 sedan Si for 11.2k in dyno Blue peril that it had 121k miles at the time. the only mods that I got with it are a hybrid racing short throw shifter, progress sway bar on the rear, weather tech floor matts, and a JL audio XD 700/5 with replaced speakers and a added 12in sub. The guy I got it from did have a short air ram in take from DC sports on it for 8k miles I think. there is decent or fair bit of surface rust on the fram and such but nothing crazy. I thankfully don't have any clear coat fade. idk if was repainted or not, but it was garaged kept previously. bought it in Ohio off of face book. there were a lot of clapped out 8th gen si sedans and coupes that I saw on facebook when I was looking. was around a 1 month of just scrolling market place and joining the buy/sell groups for this car.

Does it matter what year the r6 throttle tube come off of i figure their all the same but just wondering if a older model r6 throttle tube will work for a 2017 r3

I've driven both and currently own a 9th gen with a slight tune. It is a great all arounder, but if you want pure ras driving the 8th gen is for sure the way to go (if you can find one)

Who says a R3 cant go on highways? Never heard that before, its quite literally built as a gas mileage king that looks like a sport bike, its main purpose is long distance riding.

I had an r3 in 2015 when they first came out and I did this r6 throttle mod + lowered handles. It’s a good bike, it just comes very simple from the factory and it’s tempting to do lots of little mods.

did this mod to my track sv650 years ago, is very popular mod for the sv650. for my 1st gen sv650 is plug and play. I do not recommend this mod if you are a beginner rider until you master or get better at throttle control, that is why Yamaha made the travel of the throttle so long. is great for a more seasoned rider. also depending on the bike you doing the mod to the throttle tube is black or white, the white throttle tube from the r6 did not fit my sv650 was only the black one

I agree in many ways, and if the person has no experience with bike throttles I don't recommend at all with the sensitivity of it. But if you do have throttle control I feel this mod (for this bike) is a great choice since it has so little power or torque. Really helps with dailying the bike around town! And can get even better with being smooth on the throttle without being in huge danger with the power of the r3!

100%. The amount of twist you have to give these low cc bikes is nuts. You'll learn throttle control much better and it just feels so much better
