They are so cute. Especially in their winter fur. ❤❤❤ I wish they could make good pets, but unfortunately not. But the next Best thing would be to make Them tame enough to feed Them like this 😍😍😍

Are you one of the scientists who did the hot-dog-research on stoats? How many hot-dogs did it take to prove that theory? I tried 4 hot-dogs an the stoat lived two years longer than normal.

I see about 1 wild ermine a year in the snow in the Sierras near Tahoe. The weasels were almost wiped out by poisoning from the forest service trying to kill porcupines and coyotes. They quit dispensing it in the seventies. The porcupines ate the top off pine trees and caused the to grow two tops. The weasels are finally coming back.Nature is delicate.

I love how they run away with the food everytime like they stole it or something hahaha. They are the cutest little busy bodies, I only heard of a stoat the first time a year ago, I love when the internet shows me cute species I have never seen. So unique and adorable! Wish I had that energy haha

Ermines are beautiful! I wish I could say that I've seen them, but I never have. I do believe that I may have seen tracks, however, near our house on a trail. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could make them feel at home in our yard? We have a lot of squirrels and mice near our house, but I'm worried that neighborhood cats and dogs or human activities might be scaring them off.

I HAVE TO STOP WATCHING. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, THIS FOOD WILL MAKE THEM SICK. THEY ARE NOT MADE TO EAT THIS PROCESSED FOOD US FOOLISH HUMANS MAKE. GIVE THEM PLAIN MEAT - NEVER, NEVER PROCESSED FOOD.

Viggo, you are feeding these creatures processed food that will damage their health. For goodness sake, have more respect for them - processed meat, left overs of dessert? STOP!

I often see these kind of comments from wildlife experts from Manhattan. This is a Stout. They get about 4 years old in the wild. Ermine was 6 years old when it passed away. Do you know that a German Sheppard can get up to 30 years old if u feed it with human food and not "healthy" dog food? Humans, rarely gets older than 30-40 years old if they live "of the land", but tipping 80-100 eating food by preparing it. Where you learned your biology? Some text book from the same people who said earth was flat a few years ago? Btw, Hermine was fed on 90% fish. You need to live with these animals to learn about them. Seek the truth :)

They're actually unusually brave. I had one come into my tipi in the middle of winter and I'd be staring at it just a couple inches away and it would keep coming back. Even though it was only a time time thing.

Oh please lol hot dogs are all.the parts of animals we dont eat that they would eat regardless. I mean, cat food and dog food is super processed, and yet we have happy healthy dogs running around. I'm imagine the guy wasnt willing to fork over 20$ for fresh meat for a wild animal who would take a hotdog with just as much appreciation. Processing hot dogs involves grinding meat together into a paste, adding some salt, and cooking it. Thats all.

wouldn't be surprised if one of these took down an elk or something, the weasel family is fearless and always killing stuff that's like ten times their weight and size. look out, when you run out of sausage, ermine may turn on you one day!

It likely smelled like the hot dogs so took a bite. Had it happen a few times with animals, they realize it's not it fairly quickly and let go. (It's why so many surfers get away from sharks, we're apparently not very tasty)

So CUTE!!! No wonder we domesticated their first cousins, the ferrets. I have one myself. I have had to (very sadly) bury 9 others over the years. Ya know, that persistent, nagging nuisance, DEATH. We should all enjoy life but the built in termination clause SHOULD make us all consider that something is definitely WRONG here. It's the wages of _sin_ or our shortcomings we all share whose wages are death. (Romans 7:23-25)
