Love your informative videos on the individual areas! Watching from England! Would love a retirement winter home here! Been here on holiday it’s lovely!!
Hello England. Thanks for watching. It’s truly a wonderful area. Let me know what questions I can answer
Adam - Great game! I was there. Well played and great video. I love Lakewood Ranch!
It was a lot of fun even as a met fan. If they weren’t playing the Mets I would for sure be rooting for the Rays. But having been on Maui for so long it’s just great to see a professional game. We’re so glad you enjoyed the video.
@@941LifestyleGroup I enjoy all your videos. Very informative and interesting perspectives on growth in the area. Your live streams are quite eye opening given you cover many interesting facts about how life in Florida. Much appreciated.

Stay AWAY from HOA's.
Very tough to do and most of Florida
What exactly are you referring to ?
@@bethdixon501 it’s tough to find nice neighborhoods that don’t have some kind of homeowners association
Between HOAs, CDDs, taxes and insurance the average Joe still can't afford them.
It’s such a massive issue throughout the country but Florida for sure is feeling the brunt of these increase costs.
I love Hawaii and Lakewood Ranch. ❤

The music is annoying but thanks for the information.Have a great day😊

Yep, that is crazy. I get it though. Only thing that kept me from Maui was the difficulty of taking large dogs there and finding a property where they had a yard (practically doesn't exist). So sad what happened to our Lahaina. Got to see it one last time a few weeks before the fire.
Aloha. Absolutely agree. Unless you are buying a home it’s tough to find a rental that would allow pets. The fires was just devastating
I still mis Maui Mondays! God bless you and your family Adam
Mahalo
My old neighborhood disbanded the HOA. Within a few years, there were dirty mattresses on the lawns, driveways with 8 cars parked in them, unmaintained lawns that became overgrown with weeds then died and became brown patches, the pool became overrun with dope smoking drunks, houses went unmaintained, etc. The county has a million people in it and didn't care. So, we moved, and in my new community I'm actually on the HOA. You can disparage "Karen" if you want but I'd rather live with her than the consequences of disbanding an HOA.
I hear you it sounds great to live in an area without some rules and regulation until you are in the situation where it is not beneficial to you and then it just sucks
That's the point of gentrification. Money alone keeps those problems out. Karen's think they are justified charging $100 / day because a shrub looks natural instead of like a plastic square. When they do that with power of foreclosure granted to them, it's way out of bounds. Private property is either private, or it's not.
@@tituspullo3946 yep. There are certainly those folks who take their power of being on the HOA board a little too serious.
Why I'll never live in an HOA community is because of one woman. Karen.
I hear ya
The HOA fees are too high. Some, $ 1000.00 per month. Who? In their right mind would buy a condo at this time?
There is definitely a trend statewide that shows that condo sales are down. The fees, the taxes, the insurance is definitely having an impact.
"As low as a few hundred dollars a month" as someone who doesn't live in a country with HOAs, that's insane! If someone wants an orange house or to leave Halloween decorations out- how about you just let them? HOAs boards seem to be made of power hungry megalomaniacs.
It seems good in theory until you want to sell your house. Only to find out that nobody else wants to live there because your neighbor has Halloween decorations out all year long.
I've lived in both - and prefer for my own personal liberty to not have an HOA. I've lived next to the guy with 12 cars in his driveway (and a backhoe). He (and his family) was awesome and helped me (and the neighborhood) more than the snobs driving the jags. I don't want to ask for permission to replace my roof, or change my landscape, etc... Not having an HOA is now an AMENITY that can increase the value of the home.
For sure pros and cons We lived in rural Florida for a decade. No one to look over us
if your part of a HOA your just a glorified renter
Yes, unless of course you want to sell your home and your next-door neighbor has an RV and 12 cars in the driveway
@@941LifestyleGroup well if those cars and RV dont block you in any way whats the problem
@@holyhelga do you think if you are home was for sale it would be more desirable or less desirable or more valuable or less less desirable if you have neighbors who are the ones on the street, not upkeeping their properties. I will just go ahead and answer that question for you. There is a 100% chance that your house would be less desirable and a 100% chance your house would be less valuable.
@@941LifestyleGroup it’s clear you are a hoa Karen dictator so let’s agree to disagree
@@941LifestyleGroup Most cities have "city code" which handles those the situations that you describe.
i will never live in a HOA most end up like dictatorships no ty
That is certainly a possibility.

As a 30 years plus building safety inspector and a former waterfront condo owner, I fully expected the sales prices of condos to go down while the HOA fees head upwards back in 2021 after the collapse. I sold in 2022 and took the cash offer and moved to a single family home with 10% of the HOA fees. Every day I thank myself for doing this.
Smart move. I think at this point it may become tougher to sell for many condo owners (near the water). Even if one doesn’t have a mortgage, taxes, HOA fees and maybe special assessments could be a huge financial burden.
No thanks! I bought a beachfront home in Costa Rica.🏖 For about 1/3 less than a similar home in Florida. No hurricanes, no homeowners insurance, lower maintenance costs, and lower cost of living!
Sounds beautiful

Thank you to our host. Masterfully done. Glad I found you. I follow this subject closely and live in SE coastal Florida Broward County. Condo and coop owners “ain’t seen nuttin’ yet” till January 1 2025
Thanks so much for following along. It’s a massive issue in Florida. It’s going to cause some hardship for lots of folks.
There is no way I would buy a condo. The HOA's are expensive, intrusive, and incompetent. I'd rather buy or build myself a house.
Completely understandable
