  Does epicor cloud backup data for you?

  They should be doing backups for you since you cannot access the SQL Server if you are in cloud. Review your contract to find out what backups they perform and the frequency. If you can't find it in your contract, contact support and find out their schedule. I'm not 100% certain when they do full backups, how often, and if they are doing transaction log backups.

  The video mentioned that if one has different report style set ups for different customers, they can check certain conditions and then determine the report style. Do you guys have any videos on this yet? How would you suggest going deeper into this? Thanks for all the help!

  hi CodaBears, When I execute baq via REST Api help or Kinetic function, I got 500: "ErrorMessage": "Top level subquery is not defined in query" for every baq. All the baqs I tested with only 1 top level query and no sub query. Is there any special config need to do with top level query to be executable from Function? Appreciate if you could help me. Thank you

  If you tried one of the standard BAQs (those starting with "z") and getting the 500 error, then something is amiss with your setup for Epicor. The base BAQs should at least work. You can execute BAQs from functions without going through REST as well. There are business objects and widgets that can be called to execute the BAQs from a function.

  @@kohitech Glad the update fixed the issue. Sometimes going from one patch to another will "break" something and then another patch will fix it. This is why we tell people to always try the patch in their Test environment first so that production is not affected.

  Question. Not tech savvy here. If, for example, I have a bunch of data in excel. Let's say product manufacturer codes. Is there a way I could import the data into epicor to make a list with inventory count then export that list back into excel.

  To query the database, you'd write a BAQ for that with a table criteria for the manufacturer codes. I don't think you can copy/paste into that list. You would have to type them. If you are on-prem, you could read the excel file and have a SQL query updated with those.

  I'm not sure what fields you need to update from your question. You can go to the API help age and it will show you what you need. As well you can trace in the browser to know what API calls are being made. Let me know if that doesn't help.

  In the Extended Properties screen, what does adding the associated field to the 'Linked Column' accomplish? Isn't that only intended for locking columns together when they are repositioned in a grid? How does this affect the BAQ Zone search functionality?

  Linked locks fields together for positioning, yes. But we use the "Like" column to say that a field is related to another field. The form sees that the field is related to another field and you get the functionality of that related field. For example, if it is "like OrderHed.OrderNum", right-clicking would get you Open With | Order Entry and Order Tracker. This feeds into the BAQ Search because now the form knows what BAQ is used for the search, and from the "like" it knows what field can be used from the BAQ for searching.

  Those tools are from Infragistics. You'd have to add the appropriate DLLs to your visual studio. Documentation for using Infragistics controls in Studio can be found on the Infragistics site.

  Indirectly, yes. The report is stored in SysRptLst. If you write a BAQ to get the RptNote, SysRowID, and RptData, you can query the BAQ via REST and pass in the RptNote (the note you make when you submit the report). Then you can get the data back. The binary stream will be the RptData.

  I am new to Epicor systems so I was trying to learn about BPMs. And I got a question that the logic that we design in the BPM Workflow designers, do we get a csharp file code generated against it in the local disk somewhere?

  They do generate a file, but it is stored server side. That way the code gets executed regardless if the person is using the smart client or the web client.

  If you did the auto print feature with APR setup on an SSRS report you could hypothetically get both to go off then correct? So if we had it set to auto print then also email the SOAck via APR it would print and email when you check the box and save?

  If I understand you correctly, yes you can have the print routing do two things, print and email, or create two print routings for the same item, one to email and one to print.

  Although you can put the URL into the tip, I don't believe it will link automatically. The user would have to copy/paste it into a browser.

  Thank you for sharing this video. I learned how it works and made my first uBAQ. In this video around 4:20, I have a question. Could it possible to update multi "Tables to update" at the same time? ( for examples. OrderHed and JobEntry ) Once again, thank you for sharing this video.

  I would recommend sticking to only updating one table or Business Object at a time with UBAQs. There are some times that you can do this with the business object like Order which can updated the OrderHed, OrderDtl and OrderRel tables. But I don't think there's one that will do both OrderHed and Jobentry at the same time. In theory you could add customization to the processing to do this, but that capability may not be supported in all versions.

  You should be able to right-click on the custId and open in Customer Entry or Customer tracker since the field is the same. Otherwise, you can use Extended properties to say the field is like Customer.CustId and then it should work.

  Hi there, I have a baq search, which outputs all the right records i need, i run this on a report and it will print out all the Maintenance jobs i require, i want to use this as a reoccurring system agent task, i setup the task and submitted the report using the baq search. However the task when run only ever prints the original submitted job and not the latest baq results - any advice on how I can achieve this?

  You can google search for "ODATA Filter" and find several resources. A basic tutorial: www.odata.org/getting-started/basic-tutorial/ Be aware that not all fields in Epicor are included in filters, especially if they are nested.

  This is already built for you. Go to the tracker view for Sales Order and then Activity | Invoices. To have a button open a URL, you can set the action to be the URL.

  14:00 - 16:30 As of Kinetic 22 the name of the "contains" compare operator is MATCHES. The online help implies that there must be an exact match. However as you can see in this section of the video, it has an implied wildcard before and after. So it behaves as a CONTAINS operator. Of course to require an exact match we could just use the = operator.

  You put the customer ID into the field to search for the customer. When you bring up the search, you can search by name.
