Basically I'm in 5th grade, and I got asked to be the class monitor by the class teacher. My class is very noisy and doesn't listen if I tell them to shut up and I have anger issues so when they started getting noisy I always shout but if that doesn't work, I wait for them to quiet down but it's gonna take hours and hours to make them quiet down. They won't listen to me because I'm the youngest in classroom and there's a group of boys they are old students (I'm a new one) and last year they got like several teachers quit. I don't know what to do please help

If you say " look at the teacher, the teacher is not happy": then it will trigger students' misbehavior to a worse level, they will feel the power to disrespect you more because you are showing weakness

    1. Remind students to doing right 2. Do the opposite, silent treatment when they crowd. 3. Call and respond. Class class class, yes yes yes. 4. Secret agent. Each student give card.

Oh how I would love having these sorts of problem. In my classrooms I'm dealing with students that randomly throw up from being drunk, others that want to physically engage with me because I pointed out the obvious, while others will steal from my bag when I'm distracted with the previous cases. Currently studying so I can leave this hell. Teaching was a mistake that took me years

90% agree. Epscially, the more you fighting them back, they more they wont listen to us. But different, when we give them time to release their anger or emotion, they can cooperate with us

Some of these tips are certainly useful, but the class class class and yes yes yes only works with male teachers, since a woman's authority is differently built. The woman does not have the necessary deterrent to make it work. It might even appear ridiculous in a woman's mouth... Some students just don't have any respect towards a substitute teacher, especially if the grapevine has briefed them negatively. All of your tips work with someone having the benefit of tabula rasa, i.e. being a stranger. If there is a nasty rumor going on about the teacher, nothing works, since your authority was gone even before you entered the room. Believe me, still tried, but chose a different job at the end.

I think we as teachers are now playing the roll of the parents. If a kid is bad behaved, parents should be notified. End of this nonsense. Also if a kid is just ignoring the classroom, send him away not just out!!

Threatening standards works every time. Kids hate one thing, boredom. Also if you punish them by reading every time they’re loud, they stop. If you punish the whole friend group for the behavior of one, their friends start managing each other so they don’t all get in trouble.

@@paulastuelke4811 what? Standards are when you write what you did wrong and how you will improve over and over again for a set amount of pages. For the first offense it’s usually 1 page front and back. If it continues the pages doubles so next time it’s two then four etc etc. by the 3rd time they change their behavior

Just to confirm... all animations that are in Powerpoint Presentations imported to Ahaslides will still be lost, correct? I'd love to use the interactive features of Ahaslides, but importing my slides to your program makes all of my other slides much more boring, since the animations, gifs and videos no longer work. :(

Well what i do to have control in the classroom is to be quiet and letting them know that Im observing and evaluating them. When They notice that Im quiet and not saying anything, they one by one start to Sit down. When one of them asks me, why Im not doing anything, i just say, when All of you are quiet i start teaching otherwise Im not beginning. Hey! That works. And Remember to keep your own emotions under control, you send them a message

Thanks for your video and advice. One advice that I do (I'm a junior and senior high school teacher in Japan) is look at the person(s) who are causing the trouble and just stay focused on them. Since Japan is a "group" society, usually the students will get those people to quiet down. Another idea is to write the problem students' names on the board. Those students are going to start to question themselves and quiet down and so will everyone else. The other thing to keep in mind about noisy classrooms is the reason WHY they are noisy. It could be because the next period is a field trip, a holiday, or they are trying to prepare for something next period or later in the day. If that's the case, then tell them what you need to do (the lesson) and as a reward, you will give them free time. Just make sure they get your target lesson point, or else this won't work. Thank you again.
