Focusing primarily on Hawaiian music and hula events in the Monterey Bay area of California. I try to showcase the talented artists that live in and visit our community. We have a large group of fans that love Hawaiian music. Because of this, we get a lot of the best entertainers from Hawai'i visiting us on a regular basis. My desire is to share and promote Hawaiian music and hula.

The is no measure of gratitude that can express accurately what i feel about your decision to post... He was my neighbor, my pastor, my body gaurd, and that was all second to being my brother. Dream on with him and Steve tyler was all we had for to long. Bless your heart, Maui No Ka Oi!!!

Really nice lap steel playing by Mark Prucha! I love how he really likes Jerry Byrd's playing, you can hear the influence. I really like Mark's use of the volume pedal as well! Thank you for sharing on KZread MarkWitz!

This is my go-to video of this beautiful song whenever I've wanted to share it with others for a few years now. I've just now noticed how few people have viewed or commented and am taken aback. But not everyone has Neptune in nativity as I do. Thank you Taimane and markwitz and every other one that took part in this intimate, infinite moment.

Isn't it great to have live Hawaiian music and hula back at Pono's? And what a treat to have this iconic group back together again! The last time I saw them perform was at the Hawaiʻi Book and Music Festival in May 2018. On the day before, Kahu Ken Makuakāne became the senior pastor of Kawaiahaʻo Church, and after running the annual singer-songwriter competition, he rushed off to Kawaiahaʻo Church across the street for his ordination and installment ceremony! The Festival will finally return live in Oct., 2024. It was canceled and then at least partially on Zoom because of the pandemic since 2020. Hope the Pandanus Club and the Singer-Songwriter Contest will be back again, too! Mahalo for capturing these moments at Ponoʻs and for sharing them with us.

These kinda of musicians from this cultural group kill me. The claim to have invented resonator instruments, lap steals, any thing with a high nut, and ukulele. These people were still in grass skirts, coconut brazeers and barefoot with absolutely NO metallurgy at hand to even remotely build such instruments when these instruments had well been in use for years. And the true sacrilege is that their music is based almost solely on blues, jazz and southern rock. Certainly appreciate any music effort. However, glorying in another man's work and making declaration that it's roots is yours? It's just laughable. History is history. Claiming otherwise doesn't change history. You can call yourself a pineapple sandwich and suddenly you are one.
