Imagine a population voting for a political party just because that political party insisted that only they can protect the citizens from a group of “dangerous or evil” people that they insist are a danger to society.

Surely this nation would never let a far right government label the existence of a group of people as illegal for just existing in the country, and endorse the rounding up and imprisoning millions, right?

Not sure if he was a Glorious Gloster but he lived in Cheltenham. When i was a printer, at the factory we had a short old chap that used to clean and take care of the vending machines. He told me he was in that war and that his unit came under relentless attack but they held firm as countless (chinese i assume ) soldiers were mowed down. So many that enemy soldiers were climbing over the mounds of bodies of their dead and dying collegues to get at the brit soldiers. His unit held firm..... Until the unit started shouting out for ammo. His machine gun was almost out of bullets and the order was given to withdraw or every man for himself. Then the brit soldiers were being shot to pieces as the enemy advanced. Some did get away but not many. The rest were shot and the injured killed and bill his name is or was seen the enemy shooting and killing dead and dying or injured comrades played dead as tbe enemy soldiers took belonging off the dead and got away with it, even though the dead chap next to him was robbed. He waited till the enemy left some hours later and eventually found another unit after walking around in the dark all night. Not word for word but thats all i remember him telling me. It was 16 yrs ago. It got to me as you could see the pain in his eyes bless him.

I’m guessing the reasons this has 24k views and only 291 views are - mispronunciation of Czar, “Nuculur” instead of “new-clear”, getting the year wrong, but by far the most irritating is the way the narrator speaks, putting unnecessary emphasis on random words and on the last word of every. single. sentence. It makes it very hard to listen to. For example 5.39, you drag out the word “flight” yet seconds later say it normally. 7.50 you pronounce manoeuvre as manoovuuuh. 8.24 danger becomes daynguuh, 9.17 future as fuuhtaah etc. It’s a very weird, affected way of speaking and off-putting.

I cannot rightly judge a man knowing my own capacity for pure evil, even should I not give into it. I can only hope that one of those men were truly redeemed and that we’ll have learned our lessons from this beyond horrific era in history.

Wow, talk about an idiotic mistake. Do better! The very first sentence in your video is factually wrong; he was executed on the night of February 1, 1947, not nine months later as you say, on november 1. Here`s a pro tip; Do research before making "informative videos" on youtube.

Project "Paper Clip" by the US Army imported many Nazi scientists and doctors to the US, gave them immunity, citizenship and allowed them to continue their work and their experiments with NASA, the CIA and the Centre for Disease Control. You can read all about it in the book " Poisoner in Chief". A book like no other. Makes your hair stand on end.

I don’t know whether to admire this guy or not. He was obviously a soldier’s soldier but he was guilty of war crimes and troops under his command committed acts of atrocity and genocide that are indefensible. He was undoubtedly brave but fell under the spell of the Third Reich and Hitlerism. I’m not sure where I am going with this but isn’t it necessary to have an army with such men who act like this in order we can have peace? Isn’t he and men like him necessary for defence so that we can live our lives free of despots and tyrants? Men like him caused war but we needed the same kind of men to end the war. We have nuclear weapons to prevent war which seems an irony or even an oxymoron. We needed to fight for peace and now Rishi wants to re-introduce conscription because he believes 18 year olds need direction. He didn’t mention the war in Ukraine but Putin is threatening the West. Is that why we need an army to sabre rattle and make Russia think twice before making anymore advancements? I wonder what the intel is on that.

elon musk called it young men who don't know each other killing for old men who know each other. i have read that germany while assisting franco during the spanish civil war did some things which could be considered atrocious with the aim of ending the war quickly, and so considered it the most humane course

This is the result of swearing allegiance to a man (Hitler), and not to a concept of equal justice under law (the US constitution, for example). The real men to admire are the many, many unsung heroes that suffered an unjust death for refusing to obey illegal orders.

Dachua was no worse than Civil War prisons in the U.S. were - Andersonville and it's Union counterparts - where starvation and high mortality (death rates) were the norm. In the South, the Confederate army itself was often starving and freezing - many soldiers marching for hundreds of miles, often in freezing weather, often barefoot _(In fact, General Sherman's VICTORIOUS Union army marching through Georgia had many barefoot soldiers, they marched right through their boots!)_ and that was SOLDIERS who could seize food from locals at gunpoint - for civilians it was often just as bad - or worse, if opposing armies of tens of thousands marched through your area they could not help but loot or destroy everything in sight. In Germany's case in WW II, the ALLIES WERE BOMBING German ROADS and railroads ON A DAILY BASIS - of COURSE there was not enough food to feed TENS of THOUSANDS of prisoners. The camps were WORK CAMPS, NOT death camps, but lack of food and sanitation turned them in to death camps. Hell, AFTER Hurricane Katrina passed in 1995, FEMA turned the NEW ORLEANS SUPERDOME in to a DISGUSTING DEATH-CAMP by REFUSING to use helicopters to fly in food and water or to fly out dead and dying people. At 9 mins 30 seconds the narration says "no more than 50 German guards WERE EXECUTED _(by U.S. army soldiers at Dachau)_ when it was liberated" - but the famous image at 9 mins 30 seconds shows at least 3 German soldiers in front of a wall awaiting death by firing squad... and behind them, lying in various figures of contortion, are at least a dozen to 15 dead soldiers behind each. clearly shot by the Americans. As to STARVATION RATIONS, president roosevelt's treasury secretary Henry MORGENTHAU jr proposed that the post-war occupation of Germany BE DRACONIAN to the point of MASS STARVATION - with a ration limit of only 1,000 calories per German man, woman, and child meaning MILLIONS WOULD HAVE DIED OF STARVATION. Look up "The Morgenthau Plan" for post-war Germany.
