I do not recall anyone having to pay to rent a beach chair - that may be new because when we were there it wasn't like that. The weather was beautiful when we were there so hopefully you will also experience that as well. I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the platinum rooms but I'm sure that you will have a wonderful time - everything here is well maintained and beautiful with super friendly staff. Enjoy your holiday!!

Patrick & Tammy, Wonderful video! I too appreciated the sunglass shot. An excellent presentation. We are heading there Christmas Day and hope to get some of the great shots you took and a have some wonderful experiences as well. Parasailing will definitely be on our list! Dear Patrick and Tammy, Thank you so much for the wonderful video. It was really well made. I loved all of it but was particularly impressed with the last slide with the photo of sunglasses with the palm tree reflection showing in the lenses. That was quite creative! Can I borrow that idea? We leave for the Grand Riviera princess next week, July 7th, 2010. I know now that it will be great! We have been to Playa three times before at the Barcelo resort - which we thought was fantastic.

You will LOVE this place. It has everything you could want and is immaculately maintained. It is a BIG place and you will do a lot of walking but that's a good thing with all the wonderful food they have. If there is a negative to this place at all it might be that it is so large.... that and perhaps the fact that you have to have reservations for the dinner meals unless you go to the buffets.... but all in all it is really a GREAT place and I''m sure you will enjoy your trip!

We were there from 11-15-09 to 11-22-09. We flew in from Chicago and vacationed with Chicago Cubs players from the Dominican Republic and from Chicago. I loved this resort, all-inclusive is nice.

You will LOVE this place and there will be plenty of tour guide companies right at the resort to talk to about booking any excursions that you want. We used the Apple Tours representative. Have fun!

We booked the Outback Safari day trip at the resort with the Apple Vacations tour guide. It was an excellent and fun way to see the countryside and parts of the island that we never would have otherwise. Danny Boy, our tour guide was excellent!

Yes, we did and I am certain you will also! The staff is wonderful and the resort is beautiful! Be sure to look up Alfie at the swim up bar and tell him we have him on our KZread video.

We had a wonderful time and you will absolutely LOVE this place! Everyone was VERY friendly and helpful. Enjoy your vacation and don't forget to visit Alfie in the swim up bar for Happy Hour 2 for 1 - he is great!
