Welcome to Tye's Trains. A channel all about our adventures shooting railroad films all across the country. We are a subsidiary of Narrow Gauge Films and hope you check out our website for your production and post production needs. The majority of our content is based around steam trains, but we will also be publishing more generic train content over the years from both my childhood and modern stuff we've collected in recent years.

man the shot at 1:36 is unreal.. Did you attend a photo charter to get that? Been wanting to do something like this for a long time.
Yea, we go to most of the charters at the D&S, tho we will be missing the fall even this year due to a timing conflict, we will be out there in October tho.
@@tyestrains I’ll try and book a charter, seems like they sell out fast. thanks for the reply, looking forward to seeing more of your films
@@JordanThiem Yea they can be challenging. Unless you're in the right circles, they can sell out before you know about it. I've missed several because nobody wants to say anything until its too late! lol
😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I’m so happy that the Durango and Silverton still has the old style headlamp and diamond smokestack that they used on sister engine 473 when they dressed her up in a bumblebee gold and black paint scheme in 2002
👍👍👍🤗
Great video
harry poter train
Superbe 😊!
Clean burning oil I’ll tell you h*what *Hank Hill noises intensify*
Boooiiii
La reina de los valles...!!
That shot from inside the silverton depot is really cool!
Right 👍👍👍 5
You know, steam engines sound faster than they actually are
Yep, two chuffs per revolution
I cannot wait for these new films!!!!!!!
Where’s the lamps for the street lites?
It’s for a movie they shot last week.
Awesome
It'd be neat to see them throw the headlight and stack back on for the Fall Photo run, I'd say put the Bumblebee scheme back on 473, but that's pushing it, the stack and light look great!
Aye that’s neat! Cool to see the K-28s will be in a movie again.
any idea which movie its for?
Yep it’s the new Kevin Costner film about the west. Part one comes out in June, part two later in the year. I assume this shoot will be for part 2.
The DRGW engineers called the K-28's the "Sports Model"!
Dang "throwaway" government!😠
What a cool video!
Tyler, I just wanted to say I watched this two times in a row on my first sitting, and now a third time. Wonderfully put together - it actually feels like a film from the 1970s remastered in high definition. I know how difficult film is to work with compared to digital so mad props to you for breathing life into the medium in this day and age. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much. That was for sure my goal, to create something that's more timeless and looks/feels like it could have been shot at any time. Real fanboys recognize the changes, but the vast majority of audiences won't.. We have many more films coming in a similar style. We're even going to do a film in 4x3 and mix in some old 16mm footage of the railroads from the 1940's and 50's, fully restored. It's really going to be a hoot! Stick around for more of that content.
Looks gorgeous! Very silky and dreamy. Did you use image stabilization in post?
Spectacular show to love!
I love it!
Love the scenery and trains!
Durango and Silverton!!!
It’s like being there
What's it pulling though...
It’s a freight train. I’ll post more later.
Really well done! Bravo,!
I HOPE these films are in HD as these previews are not : ( ??? its 2024 !! not 1960
Sometimes youtube doesn't play in 4k, but everything has been shot/scanned for 4k delivery. You need to manually select 4k sadly sometimes, to see the quality. KZread also isn't quite as good as other services when it comes to 4k streaming. We also have this on our Vimeo account, which is much higher bandwidth. We strive for the highest res we can get out of our Super 16mm film source.
Just watched, very nice
*Promosm* 😂
Narrow guage. These giants are almost balancing on 36”!!! No wonder they’re rocking! Beautiful job sir!! For the people who say the tracks need work. Get a group and I’m sure they’ll let you come down and volunteer. They could always use a few more gandy dancers.
!I do love old steamers. There is nothing like it. Great camera work!
Love the beautiful scenery and trains.
Sounds like a k-28???
Yep good call! 476 in fact.
@@tyestrains Yeah drones don’t get audio, gotta mount a mic on the tender deck!
@@PistonRodProductions We got awesome audio from that shoot but sadly, not of a K36. So kinda used another shot of a k28 going over the same bridge. Sometimes ya gotta cheat a bit.
@@tyestrains I do it all the time 😂😂😂
3:06 onward with the music and shots are so beautiful to me. Well done m8! Keep doing what youre doing!
Still can’t figure out that cylinder whistle problem?
The audio is from a different clip, which the valve cocks are open on the cylinders.
FRICKIN AWESOME
blast to the past i dig it
Hell ya
Using something other than film this time?
Yea we also have a drone. The shorts are generally digital because I can easily shoot vertical.
Ok 👍🏾
Very, very nice. I've been a lifelong fan of trains and railroads, no matter the gauge, type, or location, though steam locomotives hold a little more charm for me.
Epic
Stunning
K-28s are my favorite
Cool what recording equipment do you use?
This I think was shot on film. Most of our content is shot on 16mm, tho we have been posting some iPhone material as well.
@@tyestrains That’s some good film. 👍🏾
I don't save railway videos without dialogue because I feel like I could just go out and watch them myself, but I like this video - great footage and short when you need to see a railway video., unless you want one to play in the background this is how non dialogued railway videos should be.
Thanks for the kind words and I agree! I think we struck some gold with this.
Wahou !! Ça fait rêver ! Merci pour ce magnifique film
