Cool - thanks for sharing this John. I could see some of the WEMBA alums that I have talked to recently, while on my path towards EMBA program. SF Wharton campus has lots of energy from enthusiastic students and some full program students as well who join from the Philly campus.

Ironically, while offering the advise to be natural, this person is offering all cookie cutter answers full of affectation. There could be ten thousands answers for any question based on a person’s situation. One needs to explain the answers well, in logically fluent manner with some details, while expressing their own self.

Reason 2 is bogus. Law School may need a bar exam, but one needs a JD to be a lawyer. One does not need an MBA to be an Executive, so there is more competition for Executive roles (including from immigrants).

Folks should also keep in mind that, although some schools are not requiring this year's applicants to submit a GMAT score, if you're a strong test-taker, you could arguably be at a little bit of an advantage over other applicants if you do take the GMAT and submit a score that is above the school's median score for last year's admitted class.

Hello Poets and Quants team, This is my profile: I am an undergraduate student studying in the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. I'm currently pursuing IPM (Integrated Programme in Management). It is a 5 year program which awards an MBA degree at the end of 5 years. However, there's an option to graduate in the third year with a BA (Foundations in Management) degree. Ours is a very diverse program, we're taught Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science (Coding), Ethics, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Critical Thinking and a lot more. I am a 20 year old student and graduate with my BA degree in 2022 March. IIM Indore is one of the top 5 B Schools in India. The integrated program in Management (IPM) is the most selective Undergrad program in all of India. Around 24,000 people and more apply to IPM, but only 120 make it. I don't have a great GPA, it is currently at around 2.70/4.33. We are graded on a curve (all of our subjects). Our school has a triple crown accreditation - Equis, AMBA, AACSB. I am aiming for a GMAT score of 750+. It is expected. My work experience: I have interned previously in the Ministry of Defense in India. I was reporting to the Director of the corcerned lab. I am on my way to get a research internship in a university in Europe in 2021 summer. I am a core member at the Student Activity Council. I am a member of the Investment Analysis Group, Gaming and Coding group, Music group. My sports achievements: I am a national level swimmer in India. I had participated in and won many national and state competitions. My interests: I like music, trading and investing, boxing, powerlifting and learning new languages (I can speak 7). I really want to get into deferred MBA programs. My target schools are HBS 2+2, Stanford GSB Deferred Admission, Wharton MBA Advance Access Program, Yale SOM Silver Scholars Program, Chicago Booth Scholars Program, MIT Sloan MBA Early Admission Program, Columbia Business School Deferred Enrollment program. Please let me know about me chances here, and tell me what all can I change or add or implement to make my profile look better and more attractive to these B Schools. I have always wanted to do an MBA from the best Bschools of the world and I hope I am cut out for it (I'll work towards it). Thanks you.

ha. looking into law school. hey John that's great it worked for you! for me, the problem is. thankfully in america you can do business without any degree at all. (i flipped houses when i was younger before i even got a real estate license legally since I wrote the contract and it was in my name). However, you can not be a lawyer without law school and bar exam in most states. Also, big money biz deals utilize a ton of law -if not just in their contracts... for instance in texas, a lawyer can be a real estate broker without having to work under one for 4 yrs straight etc... because they know contracts Also would help to know law if you are innovating around regulations and/or have a service or product that's a market disrupter in a way. lots of money is made in law/policy changes. Also using things like trusts, power of attorney, escrows, etc are ways to get around certain hindrances to legitimate biz. if i could get a law degree online in texas i'd already have one. :)
