This video is interesting and attractive for us who work with a chainsaw. Dear friends ..if anyone knows ..Please help me to find a plastic thread turner ..the one that drives the oil pump gear.. SOLO 662...

Under the sprocket is a plate with a plastic thread. This endless thread on the plastic drives the oil pump gear. Solo 662 was not on sale in Serbia. There are no spare parts... I contacted my friend in Baden Baden district. Does anyone of you know if the factory in Stuttgart still exists..

Hi I’m looking at purchasing a McCulloch which I managed to find locally to me in great condition, the only issue is it doesn’t include a bar or chain, I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a wide guide bar that’s still in production, I noticed that on one of your saws you use an Oregon Harvester bar, which I think would match the McCulloch yellow pretty well, but was curious if that would work, or if it would just bog down the old saw, thanks

If the 50 was built on or after the 19 week of 1989 it’s a 50 special with the 45mm piston. First digit of serial number is year. Second digits is the week it was built. Black tag so it’s a late 80s saw. I got a bunch of those saws.

Hello. I'm trying to fix our Stihl 041AV chainsaw for home. I've done everything suggested that I found on Google, but still no improvement so wondering if you can help. The problem is that it cuts out under load and then won't start. Things I've tried are - - New fuel - Cleaned carb and fuel lines with carb cleaner spray (twice) - Changed fuel/air filter and spark plug - Tried adjusting screws on carb to see if there's any improvement - Removed exhaust in case of blockage What can I try next? I've been messing about with it for 2 days. Had it completely stripped down then rebuilt a few times

Hello Alex.. I would love to have included my Husqvarna 2100XP, but you cannot realistically get any 100cc + parts to keep it running if it breaks..same for the 1100 & 2101.. It is really difficult to find a vintage 100cc + saw that can be kept running easily.. Greetings from Wales Rob 👍😀🌲🪚🪓🪵🔥

@@stridebaad1219 very true. The parts just arent there. Thats the main reason i reserve most of my collection for occasional runs now and then. I daily a husky 50 and 61 however. They do most of my cutting. Loads of the bigger homelite saws are hard to find parts for aswell

Pity I'm two years too late finding this video, i have a Solo 2175, made in west Germany, it's from pre chain brake days, i still use it, i can't find any info on it, IE can i get a new sprocket for it? its probably early 70s or earlier, even google hasn't helped, thanks from Australia. The makers badge is missing, so the number 2175 may be the indevidual saw number and not the model.

We are lucky to have you! In the last 18 months or so aged 70 years I bought my first chainsaw after over 54 years on playing with everything else both professionally and as a hobbyist. I am agog (a grumpy old git) About a month ago I bought my first Jobu L800 for a silly price. Guy didn't know what he had and neither did I. So well built so much metal. I have fallen for Macs, Huskies and Dolmars as well. Er I don't have a Sthil other than modern Combi unit stuff. Lovely to see you sharing in the workshop. Keep on keeping all on. Thank you.
