Personally and honestly, I enjoyed the 4th season then and now. I never really noticed anything off about it and enjoyed it just as much as the others. I think the biggest thing that always annoyed me was the dumbing down of Britta throughout the series.

Season 4 felt like fan fiction of the show. If you go on a show's subreddit fans will always have episode suggestions much of what you get in season 4: 'what if we go back to this, what if they do that again, what if it's puppets instead of stop-motion, what if we do another spooky episode, Annie and Jeff needs more attention' etc. It's why you don't let fans make shows.

The frog at the bar might be the toad who kidnapped Thumbelina. The good/bad witch painting could be a dig at the Wizard of Oz; a detailed poster reveals that her name is Tabatha, potentially a reference to Tabitha Stephens from ABC’s Bewitched and its spinoff Tabatha. The two swans that transform into ballerinas references Swan Lake, and the mushroom that turns into a rose is similar to the one from Beauty and the Beast.

I just rewatched the trilogy...do it every year...and every year I'm angry by the third movie. Not just because of the long ending...but because...I'm bored. It's so similar to the second. And cutting to frodo and Sam arguing about golum for the seventh time is eye rolling. I don't think it needed a trilogy. The second two movies should just be one movie. Oh we're defending another base? But this time it's towers, not ladders....and this time it's not just a battering ram...its an animal head on fire....its the same thing! I don't need to see it twice. Maybe as they released with a year gap it was ok...but watching them together...I just get fed up with it.. The first is magic. The next two...yawn fest

I'm not sure Mackie's cock-sure attitude will be the best fit for the character? But I'm down to give him a chance. And on the flipside, Bucky didn't want it. That's the single most important part. Beyond that, I don't think the public would be enthusiastic about someone who was brainwashed by the Soviets taking charge. The biggest things in his favor were a history with Steve (which Sam also has), and super solider strength (which is probably his biggest advantage over Sam). Overall, I still think promoting Sam was the right choice.

I COMPLETELY agree with the assessment of Shirley. Great acting for the worst character in the show (from a joy to watch perspective). Pierce is consistantly funnier AND more fun to hate. Shirley is just as judgmental, less direct and worst of all she is constantly treated as redeemable or misunderstood compared to pierce being treated as the racist and deplorable ass hat he is.

The fact that Season 4 is so difficult to watch is part of why this show is one of the greatest of all time. We as the audience are in on the joke. It's a part of the show's lore that one season is a total outlier from the rest and, unlike Dexter, which featured a similar series of mild peaks and dumpster fires following its best seasons, the show was fully self-aware and did not try to rectify the problems that it caused. It just continued to be the same show we know and love, even as cast was being rotated in and out in Seasons 5 and 6, it became part of the gimmick. Season 4 being terrible is absolutely necessary to the cult-classic status the show has received, and no one can tell me otherwise.

I don't think "entertaining" is too generous of a review! The concept is still strong. There are some great moments. And it's b-movie quality borders on endearing. I wouldn't recommend it on it's own. But for anyone who saw the first, and is left wanting more, I think it's worth watching all three :)

I'd rank the seasons like this: S1 is A Tier S2 is S Tier S3 is S Tier S4 is B Tier S5 is A Tier S6 is B Tier Seasons 2 and 3 are simple some of the best TV ever made, period. Season 1 is great, but it doesn't seem as fully fleshed out like S2 & 3. Likewise S5 is also great, but not as good as S2 & 3. Season 4 is entertaining but it also feels soulless. Dan Harmon isn't there behind the scenes. Season 6 doesn't fully feel like Community anymore. It feels like a reunion show or a spinoff with half the original cast missing and some of the main characters aren't students any more. Season 6 is still enjoyable, but it doesn't compare to the show at its peak.

The show is great. 95% of the hate came from the anti fandom. Culture war anti woke people. They review bomb any franchise that they're directed to by outrage grifters. Some channels said He-Man would be killed off permanently to be replaced as champion by a gay Teela. This of course turned out to be a lie but it was enough to outrage culture war NPCs.

Nah, the season still has funny moments! It's perfectly fine to laugh at. The writers were still capable of writing jokes. They just often lack the layers and sharp wit that defined the earlier seasons.

i know this is in season 5 but one of my favourite fore shadowing moments is at the start of season 5 when they're talking about characters leaving shows after a few episodes into a season, and troy gets really annoyed and is like "after everything scrubs did for him?!", but then donald glover leaves the show like 6 episodes into the season. it's just so funny to me and i never see people talk about this moment. i'm sure it's easy to miss on the first watch, but watching it again and knowing that troy is about to leave, it's so sad yet funny edit: i just finished the video and realised this is literally referenced near the end. i'm glad it's getting recognition HAHAHA
