    Best way to explain is that a return can basically be any channel you want. You could use the send and then return it on channel 5-6 or whatever you choose by using the output of your aux gear and going right into a channel input. It’s different than an aux send on a traditional mixer as far as where it winds up in the signal chain, but it works, and can be done like that. These aux sends are really just alternative outputs. I’m not sure where they are in the signal chain of their respective send. Pre fader I’m assuming.

    Awesome demo! Congrats! I’m now interested in this mixer… but I have a question: can I use an external effects processor connected to the AUX SEND and then bring back the output of the processed signal back to the mixer? It doesn’t have an AUX RETURN, so how can I do that? At the same time, I only want to hear the dry signal, is it possible? Thanks!

    1989. Beers were drank. Egos were flyin. Band gets in a big fight. I throw my special 150 in the back of my 5 window 65 econoline pickup with the hopped up 302 V8 and punch it down the dirt road. When I did, the amp slid down the bed of the truck and SLAM! bashes against the tailgate HARD. SO hard I felt it, and said "fkn great now the band is over AND my amp is wrecked too!" well it didn't hurt the amp at all. It still works fine to this day. The band...well, that's another story. Ahh the 80s and alcohol. Bittersweet memories. And Peavey was there. We BOTH survived it all ha ha ha Rock on!

    I have the exact same amplus fire plated for many, many years and it is quite a workforce. How did a great sound? And it never let me down it even came with the original foot pedal. For reverb. I was able to put my other amplifiers in the box. Except for the one that I played at home. My finger 68 basement head, but that is G. I've played many, many, many in the night. And love the great big knobs that you can see really well super amp. Unfortunately, getting older now I'm going to start losing some of my. Equipment equipment because that is one heavy empty.But it sounds great.Anyhow thanks for the video

    @@ExpandingSound There is a lot more on offer with the Zoom R24, don’t get me wrong here it’s nice to have the direct features like effects and headphones, what I don’t get is when you have engineered a great product if the onboard effects Drum pads and ability to link more than one L12 together had been merged together I believe Zoom would be ahead of the game here in the small mixer market. Also the output of the R24 Sound is far superior on the machine I have That being said I’m not a fan of the USB having to switch from DAW that being said Zoom Ofer better Quality on all of the recordings we have made.We have had Tascam 24 ,Presonus and Behringer I have mainly Zoom products L12 ,R24 and zoomH4N

    A big question that hasn't been asked..or talked about so far is.. Is the Zoom R24 and the Zoom live track L12 both compatible?? I own an R24 and want to purchase a L12 to piggy back together so that i can record vocals separately on the L12 and import them in to the R24..?? The R24 is great for recording all my instruments and the drums on, but i want to have enough tracks available to over dub vocals in songs and have them flow together.. I dont use a DAW as i am not as tech savy as most... but only using the R24 for everything, has me run out of tracks, if i record all instruments..as well as a few drum tracks as well, to include fills in between main drum parts...as the R24 takes up 2 whole tracks per drum part... So my question is, can i record all vocals on the L12, and master them into one vocal track..and then import it onto my project onto the R24??

  • @ExpandingSound
    @ExpandingSound5 ай бұрын

    They’re not going to sync together, but both can record and play wav files. Not really sure what the benefit of moving something from the l12 to the r24 would be for you

  • @chunkymunky_mofo8006
    @chunkymunky_mofo80065 ай бұрын

    @ExpandingSound I appreciate the reply...as explained, the drum tracks on the R24 take up 2 tracks per drum fill or change..so trying to overlap vocals will also cost extra tracks, so the R24 will fill up tracks very fast...so I thought that if there was a "daw-less" unit..aka, the L12 that I could record vocals on..and then import it over to their other product aka..the R24...then it would be awesome to be able to use both products together...as aposed to them putting out 2 products that are both so good....yet non compatible.... was my point. They just missed the mark unfortunately...so close yet so far away. Yet, they made the R8 (a previous model) only take up one track per drum track....so it seems as though the same thought slipped through the cracks..instead of making the R24 ("the new and more advanced unit.. than the R8) have us fill up tracks double with drums..leaving less room essentially.. Sorry..I thought I had covered this in my last reply..

  • @chunkymunky_mofo8006

    @ExpandingSound i guess I am the only person ever to question this.. it seems as though they could be making a lot more money if they made their latest products compatible with each other instead of making 2 products that have their own pros and cons...but at least if they could be used together they would both together would be able to cover all the bases... does this make sense to anyone? Or is it just me... both great products..but both fall short of a complete home recording studio since both made non compatible....same as R8 and R24... both great..but non compatible together

I just had to try and explain my predicament to see if there was anything anyone knew to help me solve my problems with zoom.. (this is how we as a community learn and grow..asking questions. I just don't understand why they wouldn't make their amazing gear more easily accessible and compatible as a complete platform as well as daw compatible..for all the tech heads as well. We make music we love...but we can't all be tech savvy music production masters as well..

I got all my screws out on mine with no issue. Also, don't waste your time replacing the cheap hinge with the same thing. You've already gone through the trouble to fix it, so fix it by upgrading it with the Delta 2 hinge with bearings... You're welcome.

    Yes! You get it. The DBX 1,2,3 bx's are amazing units. I used mine on my Hammond A100 (a B3 in a home console) and M3 organs. I've made old reel to reel and 8-track tapes come to life, and 78rpm records sound like they wish they had sounded like. I see you have a nice setup and a great ear too. Here are a couple things I swear by that I think you will too, I can feel it. The first is an *Vintage EXR Exciter Psychoacoustic Audio Enhancer* Model SPI is the one I use, and seems to be what they made the most. It clarifies the crisp top end of mixes, but especially dynamic vocal and recording mics. It's not just an eq, or a BBE enhancer, which do have their place too. I use a BBE 802 on my old all-vacuum tube 1958 Conn 815-Classic model organ. But yeah the EXR Exciter Psychoacoustic Audio Enhancer is great and show up for 50-100 sometimes. Check out the old color brochure pdf, you'll love it. >>>>>> preservationsound D0T com/wp-...XR_Exciter D0T pdf <<<<<<<< This next thing you'll absolutely dig. The original Tom Oberheim designed Ring Modulator for his college thesis a.k.a the *MAESTRO RM1 RING MODULATOR* . Not cheap or easy to find, but the pc board is available. Now one thing right off. The demo record is lousy. See what makes the RM1 amazing is its CV-in. It opens a whole world of sonic, tonal, and timbral exchange between the two sources plugged into it because they interact! For example your electric guitar or keyboard as the input signal, it's rhythm is controlled by whatever is plugged into CV-in, but the Ring modulation is here it gets amazing. It's tonally adjustable and the interaction is uniquely very usable. You can do loops into this arrangement with a mixing board set up as FX1 and FX2,, where FX1 SEND goes to the Ring Modulator Input, and FX2 SEND goes to the Ring Modulators CV-in. Now you can do really cool real time stuff because you can slowly pan what was a Source two measures ago into the CV-in role, and vise versa. You have full control to go full tilt and get back in control again. NOTE, you can also use L/R panning in place of FX1&2. SAVE THIS COMMENT. I'll find the MAESTRO RM1 clone info and post it here. Now I don't think the new little Maestro Ring modulator has the versatility of the larger original. I don't think 98% of people used the original to it's full potential, so they haven't reissued it.
