    Are the machines time-shared? Like are there only few machines for a lot of residents?

  • @GlobalGatheringPlace
    @GlobalGatheringPlace4 ай бұрын

    Hi there! Yes, these machines are in shared rooms in apartment buildings that all residents have access to. Some buildings have private machines in each apartment which do not require laundry cards or coins.

    This is one of the most helpful videos I have found! I'll be traveling to Canada (Alberta) on December 25th so I'm pretty nervous. The coldest it gets in my home country is 22C so I really am worried about the harsh winter there. I won't be able to get the majority of the stuff you mentioned from my home country (at least not quality ones) so I really appreciate you listing the stores so I know where to find them. I heard there are a lot of sales on boxing day. Is it cheaper to buy from the mall on that day or to go to thrift shops?

  • @GlobalGatheringPlace
    @GlobalGatheringPlace Жыл бұрын

    We are so glad you found this video useful! We can't predict Boxing Day prices, often the prices will drop quite low but thrift shops will also have sales on that day so it is hard to say which will be cheaper. Visiting a store like Cabela's right when it opens on Boxing Day is a good idea to find high quality winter wear on sale. Stores like Value Village or Salvation Army will have affordable winter wear on regular winter days.

  • @Bhawna03
    @Bhawna03 Жыл бұрын

    @@GlobalGatheringPlace Oh thank you! I just checked Google maps and I don't think my city (Red Deer) has a Cabela's. :( I'm not really sure how to tell which winter wear is high quality. Do you have any tips on what to look for? Or maybe even just good yet affordable brands you'd recomend? Thank you for your help. I really do appreciate it 💗

  • @GlobalGatheringPlace

    @@Bhawna03 Okay, Red Deer does have Mark's and Sportchek which are two other stores that will sell high quality outerwear. Regularly, their coats will range from $60 to over $300 dollars but they will have Boxing Day sales. On days without sales, Walmart and thrift stores like Value Village are your best options for lower-cost coats and ski pants etc.

    wow, how do u pee in winter? LOL ... whoever invented the zipper invented it to make it easier for us to pee, with an outfit like ours, I'm gonna need a chainsaw just to pee, otherwise, I'm gonna walk around with wet pants! , is that is what you guys are doing ?? LOL. I wonder why no one has made a line of clothing that is more reliable in the winter, you don't need layers in winter, you just need the right material and the right design.

    I always thought the same why canada hasn't invested in research and innovation to Make any clothing material that can provide sufficient insulation without layering also different road paving materials so that roads won't crack during temperature fluctuations.

    And when do you poor the softener in the rinse cycle of the washing machine?

  • @smiles5774
    @smiles57742 жыл бұрын

    Yes

  • @GlobalGatheringPlace
    @GlobalGatheringPlace2 жыл бұрын

    Hi there ! Your washing machine may have a special softener compartment, if that's the case you should pour one cap of fabric softener at the very beginning when you put the laundry in. If there is no compartment, start your washing machine and then check back every 10 or 15 minutes until the dial indicates that it is in the final rinse cycle, at this time, open your washing machine and pour a cap of fabric softener directly in.

    Thank you, everyone at GGP. Volunteering at Global Gathering Place is indeed one of the best experiences I have had ever since I came to Canada. I appreciate all the opportunities provided by you all to allow me to make a real impact on people’s lives. I gained skills and self-confidence through all kinds of activities held by GGP. This year is unusual; the contributions everyone of GGP is making to people are unusually extraordinary. BTW, Rachel's singing is so so so interesting and her voice is nice~ I am so proud of being a part of GGP as a volunteer. Cheers~
