    I wear a full face helmet when I'm riding my MTB even on the roads or gravel paths. A normal helmet leaves your face fully exposed

    IXS kneepads, IME, run true to size. Everyone is different, but I'd rather have a tighter fit than loose. I hate pads sliding down while riding.

    These tires were an impossibly tight fit on my 27.5 rims.

    What rims you running? I've used aluminum Spank rims and now am on Nobl carbon. Snug fit to put on, but not want I'd call impossibly tight.

    I had Bontrager rims at one time and they were hard to mount certain tires. I feel rim design is the key factor as to how a given tire will mount to it.

    Hi bud, not sure if you'll see this, but question about the IXS? What size do you have & what CM is your head? Im looking to get 1 but not sure if they run small or big.. im 57cm so im considering a S/M. But don't want it so tight I get headache. And it comes with different size cheek pads if not mistaken? TY

    Even just riding around roads and down step hills probably good idea also , cars are bloody dangerous . Almost been killed so many times . Esp if it's raining . Yeah it would get super hot after a while no doubt , just carry a bladder rofl . Have it poked up into your helmet like a v8 super car driver on long rides . I use to ride to work miles every day , down these massive roads . Lucky I never came off on the hills , was so scary on the way to work each day and going home . A full face would of made me feel so much more safe I think . One time I was going down this hill and it had ice on it , I didn't even know it had ice till I got half way down the hill . When I had to slow down for the corners I had to drift left and right just to stay on . And I was going so fast at the round about and this car pulls out on me and doesn't give way and I'm still sliding and I had to drift around the front of their car rofl . I thought I was going to die .

    how do you like this hd5 vs the remedy you had can they both do the same just as well ? thank you

  • @PedalingDave
    @PedalingDave7 ай бұрын

    The HD5 is much better in the steep and rough stuff. The Remedy did ok enough in steep situations, but it was more at home on flow and jumps. I feel the HD5 is a better all-around bike that can overall handle bigger features/trails, while the Remedy was a bit better for playing and jumping. Part of that playfulness of the Remedy was due to its slightly dated(2017) geometry. Compared to bike geometry today, it would now be considered a small instead of a medium.

    I have the A.T. MOPO front and back, and I need a third hand to get them on Stans Asym MK4's with Huck Norris inserts. I'm really liking the grip of these tires in PNW dirt. Can get them as low as 22psi before they feel squirmy.

    Expect to catch massive loads of shit from "friends" who won't pay for your medical bills when you wear a full face and (GASP!) pads. Of course your riding buddies will say "You don't need that on THIS trail", and they will be totally wrong. He's right, the only person who is responsible for your safety is you, and just like a pregnant gf, if you wreck you can't un-f*** that situation with just hindsight. Want to stay cool? Fox Proframe RS. Downhill rated, as breezy as a window in Belize, good with shades or goggles, thumb the dial and it fits perfect. Costs around $360, but like the old Bell commercial says, if you have a hundred dollar head, fine, buy a hundred dollar helmet. I went to a helmet only store in Steamboat and tried on the POC, worst fitting helmet I've ever tried, Smith was okay. So, don't just order, test fit everything and buy accordingly.

    If jumps are priority, Cedar Hill and Percy Warner. Wilkins Branch over Percy imo, but that is down in Liepers Fork. More Tech = Hamilton Creek Of all those, Percy Warner has the most "flavors" included in one trail system. My personal Nashville favorite is still Cedar Hill. Nothing in the way of tech, but multiple decent jump lines.

    I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. kzread.infoUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.
