I'm sure the new one is great. Ultimately depends on how much you have to spend. My 17k miles 2017 991.2 looks new on a private plate but cost about £80k.
Great job on the channel Evan!
Is this version in the video with OPF?
Picking up my Spyder tomorrow 6/12/24, can’t wait. Nice review.
I get mine at the end of this week! Hope yours is everything you wanted!!
@@Docinaplane It’s the BEST car and Porsche I have owned. Good luck with yours!

Damn!
992 is not 100k better than 991.2 in my opinion. Both are awesome cars but I love the look of the 991.2 even with the "dated" interior. The analog instrument dial is such a classic style to me.
Another banger. Totally agree that the aesthetic Porsche achieved on this model is one of their best ever.
people won't understand that the 992 turbo S is faster, but it is hugely more boring than the GT2. GT2 is hugely fun and good
I don't know about best, but the chap who keeps driving it around definitely gets the majority of the looks, that and his wife's SF90. Personally I'm a fan of the P1, in terms of unattainable incredible cars. For a daily driver: rolls royce phantom with a chauffer.
Saw a silver one recently and it's now my dream car 😂
If for whatever reason i cant get into this, the 600lt spider is the next best thing for me.Longterm goal is tbe 765lt spider and i will achieve these👌🏿
Surprised you haven’t had many hits on this video- It’s excellent- and I agree with both of your points I’ve owned both 991.2 gt3 manual and an RS Only comment you were slightly wrong about- the RS has rose joints and despite softer bars its suspension is definitely more rigid - you claimed you can’t tell the difference- true on smooth roads, not on most roads, at least where I live !! But you tolerate it because the RS is what it is- a street legal race car vs the gt3 is a track capable road car
I'm sure it's important, but if the first thing you talk about in reviewing the car, is how 'Masculine looking' it is, then you're not the channel I want to get my fast car info from.
You can’t afford this anyway
@@voidwalker9223 ~ LOL, yeah. I can't afford Miss June either. That doesn't stop me looking.
'Pelote'😂😂😂😂

Guys, you’re amazing! Congrats. 🎉
This event looks so dialed in. No surprise coming from you guys. Was sorry to miss this year, but look forward to the next one of these!
amazing footage! Love the diverse group
Such a beautiful scenery. Would love to see it person.
Truly incredible. You can see the effort that was put into every detail of the event. Disapointed I missed this first one but with absolutely be on the next one. Great job to the Merit team!
🎉
I restore cars for a living and also own a variety of American and German cars and the biggest mistake is the people who buy these types of cars and just let them sit in a collection and don't drive them thats what ruins this type od car as ecerything drys up yes miles are important to keep off the speedo but when it comes to Porsche engines 30 to 40k for a reseal is expensive i don't care who you are.Just my 2 cents thanks for the cool video and just fyi Porsches doo not have a frame the factory stitch welded the unibody saying that in the nicest way..Kevin😊
Thank you for the great comment! We know these cars well but can learn plenty from people like you who are restoring these beauties. Completely agree with you philosophy as well.
I bought my 2008 GT2 from Merit, in white. And man is it SOOO GOOD !
Good choice without the roll cage.
Agreed!
You touched upon an important factor. To enjoy these cars you need a different type of road and those are not primary roads but secondary roads or mountain passes y that’s where these cars come alive and shine. Sadly it may not be possible for a lot to be opportuned to have access to these roads. I have a 993 RS tribute and don’t even bother driving her in town anymore, seems an absolute waste. Only ever comes out to go to the Mediterranean mountain passes or the Pyrenees etc where she comes alive. They are great cars indeed👌🏿🙏🏿
Really well said. By the way, tribute cars are an excellent was to get a car you can enjoy that is 90% of the OEM car at a fraction of the price. Love that you are enjoying yours!
Nice video Evan. Love these types of videos. Learned several new things about this variant. Keep em coming.
Thank you so much! We appreciate your support. Hope to see you out in Atlanta soon.
I have nothing but contempt for people who buy cars "strategically". They are one reason why every POS regular passenger car older than 25 is going up in prices because everyone just buys to make more of it in the future. Not to enjoy the freakin hobby anymore.
You fail to mention a few things you might not know about this car. Let me help you out here. 993 RS comes with manual lifters instead of hydraulic lifters, it also is equipped with a kill, switch in the front, it has a way smaller reservoir for the windshield washer fluid and is located in the right hand side of the frunk instead of the huge bottle under the left fender, and it comes with a different front wheel mount to compensate for its lower right height, just to name a few more things😉
That is excellent information. Thank you.
993 RS is even better looking with the standard, smaller RS wing. Never been a fan of that huge Club Sport wing. Still among the best and coolest Porsches ever made.
Great car. Drives amazing.
Needs to be driven hard…stupid that it’s worth too much to push hard on the track
Look at this guy! Go Evan.
Blake!! Thank you so much brother. Hope all is well.
The 964 RSR has not gone up in value either.... Always been around $1M and hover around that. And I looked at it 10 years ago -- and it was $1M then. Why?
So I have written before. Among others... I have a low mileage 964RS in Rubystone. I also have a low mileage 993RS in Silver. I also have a 1973RS - one paint and original super clean. All these cars from Japan... But one thing I dont understand... My 964RS by far drives the best and most fun because as you know, its like driving a tin can with a large motor... You feel how light it is -- and I can compare because I also have an awesome Japanese 964 in Forest Green Metallic mint condition original. No comparison. Why on earth has the 964RS never gone up in value?
Exactly what I wanted to ask. See you soon Jonathan, Burt, and Evan!
Why did you say you wouldn't pick it as a daily? Is it just the manual top or something else too?
Really good, well spoken
Thank you!
Quick question, could I go in there sometime when you guys are open and just film some of the cars? This place has probably the best cars in Georgia. Thanks
Investment potential? I watched a video yesterday that said the 675LT might be the best deal on the market because of its depreciation, lot of bang for the buck. How does investment potential square with depreciation? I guess if you hold it for 20+ years and don't drive it, it might appreciate, but doubtful it'd beat the stock market.
Excited to watch! Great job team Merit!
Thank you Jimmy and team!
1:56, why I should consider the GT2? It's the other way round, the GT2 should consider me.
Great points, thanks.
Soon to be unobtanium
the 991 in my opinion looks way better than the 992.
yes
F1 ,P1 then 675LT for me
My favorite 911... but the 991 wheel looks out of place with that interior
You need to show the car more in the video . Talk more from a distance in front of the car
Jimmy's a class act and his shop is second to none! Luckily I'm local to the shop and can bring my GT car there, got to interact with Jimmy and his team at Repasi Motorwerks, highly recomend. Great podcaast, just subscribed. I bet that BBQ is wayyyy better than what we get up here in Connecticut!
