Oliver Elmes

Oliver Elmes

I've been playing the guitar since 1991 and I'm always looking to improve my knowledge and skills. At the moment, I'm posting more and more guitar based videos, as I find it's helped improved my playing no end.

I work in video production, mainly camera operation, editing and motion graphics. Please visit here for my website www.oliverelmes.com/

I also digitise old formats such as cine film, hi8, VHS, VHS-C, mini dv you name it! Because of this, I have a mixture of stuff on my channel, including old adverts or oddities I find when digitising, motion graphics experiments, videos I've shot, my guitar tutorials. Anything of interest really!

    Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind Possessing and caressing me. - Sounds of laughter shades of life are ringing Through my open ears inciting and inviting me Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns It calls me on and on across the universe.

    Cynthia seemed very CODEPENDENT. She Allowed John to treat her poprly. And made excuses for him. Yes, he had a tough childhood. Sadly he didn't work through his issues. He ended up with Yoko because she was alot like his Aunt who raised him. History repeating himself. Drugs changed him and like any Addict, he made bad choices!

    I wish Cynthia could have stayed on with John. She was lovely! I hope she enjoyed her life anyway. She helped John attain great things with his mates. We cherish both of their memories. I always will appreciate The Beatles and all of their loved ones. It was a team effort indeed! Peace and Love always, Cav!

Si no fuese Yoko, sería otra. Cómo no lo has superado?

    Thanks for doing this, really appreciate it. The opening is tricky - I think a couple of the notes you're playing aren't quite right which is why it sounds slightly off. There are a few tabs on-line which are reasonably close but I'm not sure any of them are completely correct. When I try playing along to the CD it never quite matches. It's a shame as I love this song and really wish there was an official tab for it.

    You're welcome. I've been playing along with the live version, and I'm getting very close. There's an F#, G played on the low E which I'd hadn't heard on the recorded version.

    Good try but the opening part doesn't sound quite right. The section at 0:30 sounds good and closer than how I've heard other people try to play it - would be interested to know what you're playing as I can't quite work it out from the video.

    Do strings affect the action?

  • @oliverelmes79
    @oliverelmes792 ай бұрын

    I'd say only marginally. On the E A D strings, for example, if you went for a heavy gauge, the action would be slightly lower compared to a very light gauge, just because the strings would be marginally closer to the fretboard.

    Frankly, I can't understand what she saw in John Lennon. She had so much more class than he did. She was attractive, more intelligent than John, a much more talented artist, and she had class, which was something he never acquired
