The books themselves were mostly awful and forgettable, but the behind-the-scenes dramas on Outpost Gallifrey with the narcissistic "authors" strutting around taking themselves so seriously was hugely entertaining and the best thing to come out of Doctor Who.

It wasn't actually, because of the production order and the problem that would have been if the casting had wanted Ant Ainley in three stories back to back (The Keeper of Traken, Logopolis and Castrovalva) then Pete wouldn't have had to be there for the Regeneration and then do Four to Doomsday, so 'technically', Peter's first appearance was in Episode 4, then exiting the TARDIS for scenes in Episode 1 and then back with the police box for the departure from Earth and heading to Event One.

nice video Richard I think in the future of you rating movies you should have a chart kind of like a tier list or something throughout the video for viewers to keep track of your ratings otherwise very good video hoping to see more from you

Thanks! I'm not massively familiar with tier lists, but it does seem like it could be a decent way of ranking a bunch of different things. I'll definitely consider it next time I do a similar video.

Love some Ribos Operation appreciation. It’s not the most exciting story but it’s so charming, has a plot that doesn’t get boring over 4 parts and I had a massive crush on the villain 😂

My favourite Tom Baker story's are The Talons of Wheng-Chiang, it has Sherlock Homes meets Fu Manchu meets Jack the Ripper, You got your money worth in though's days. But my all time favourite is The Planet of Evil, and i also recommend The Horror of Fang Rock. As far as i'm concerned Tom Baker is Doctor Who.

My tier list would match yours. The ending of finale felt like it dragged on. Ruby felt like they just wanted to right her off without real answers. Her biological mom was so happy to see her, a perfect mom and the reason she had to give her up was an abusive husband but even he is this great new relationship Ruby will have. It broke my heart when she called the bio mom "her real mom".

It was just mid. Underwhelming relationship (surprising given RTD's track record not only with his old Dr Who work, but also his recent work on It's A Sin and Nolly). Sutekh never really did anything that made him personally evil - like I can't think of anyone who feels particularly close to anyone who died the way they were close to say Wilf or Donna. Like The Master being mean to Wilf, you want him hanged, drawn and quartered, but everyone who died here... Yeah, generally evil, but we didn't know them well. Sutekh seemed a bit inept with decision making at times. I dunno. A weak season overall, better than Chibnall, worse than every other season than maybe the messier Smith seasons. 6/10 S1 10/10 S2 7/10 S3 10'10 S4 10/10 S5 10/10 S6 7/10 S7 5/10 S8 9/10 S9 8/10 S10 5/10 S11 3/10 S12 3/10 S13 4/10 S14 6/10

I personnaly liked this episode. Some people are saying "i wosh this had bearing on the plot", which is fine and understandable. I think i heard someone say something about things like this (supernatural things) happening more is possibly due to the doctor invoking salt at the edge of the universe which i like that idea. Even if it doesnt have anything to do with the main ppot, it still helps show us Ruby's personality, and was an entertaining episode (in my opinion). Of xourse its understandable to be upset with it not advancing the plot. Either way, keep it up!

The ending was incredibly moving and felt like the DW I love. This epoisode is showing exactly where society is heading. If anyone thinks otherwise they must be naive. Humans so far have shown no capacity to balance technology and especially social media sites in their lives. Sometimes I sit in a coffee shop and look up and every single customer waiting for their caffeine hit are all on their mobile/smart phones - and I am talking about numbers as high a twelve people out of twelve. A strong episode.

The ending was about as shit as "Millie wakes up and realizes it was all a dream" - because that's what undoing an entire episode at the end of the episode does. We may as well have never watched this episode as it never really happened. The entire plot was retroactively erased by the end of this episode.

When i get attacked online for enjoying new episodes of doctor who, i remind the haters how excited they got when RTD was announced as show runner during the Jody Whittaker tenure. How they laughed and said that RTD was going to re boot doctor who, not acknowledging the timeless child at all. How wrong they were. (Am i the only one that likes the idea of the Timeless child?) . I am enjoying the new season of doctor who, the acting is superb from both Millie and Acuti. My only complaints needs less singing and dancing and more focus on the writing. Now. My theory is that we find out who or what Ruby Sunday is in the last episode, which is what the old woman Ruby tells people to scare them off.

It was a fun mutilayered episode with great acting and suspense. BUT did it make sense in the end? Not to me. Couple of things that didnt make sense. WHY was any of this going on? She was like The Watcher in Bakers last episode but WHY? What did we gain from this? Nothing was clear at the end even after many shots of vodka and Gatorade. To what end? I really wish it furthered the story arc.

No, people are convinced that if you include someone who is black or gay it’s some sort of forced propaganda rather than just the writers liking certain actors, wanting to give more diversed actors chances, wanting a bit more diversity, or just relating to those characters more.

I just completed my collection of the classic series on DVD (mostly Region 1s, a few Region 2s, and a few Blu Rays of the last releases). I expect that The Celestial Toymaker will be the last, and I've pre-ordered it and it will arrive once it's released. It's a big collection, but it's worth it. I'm not inclined to trust streamers and I want to OWN, not RENT.
