  It’s a lot cleaner than the turd infested barn I have to work on my bikes in. And the critters (woodchucks and squirrels) will chew on the rubber stuff. Ugh. But like another commenter said, it’s better than working outside…

  Thanks for the video. You are a good mechanic. You don't clean the carburettors with ultrasounds and you don't do the synchronization with a special tool ? It is not necessary !

  If you have an ultrasonic cleaner then yes do it! For balancing the carbs I just listen and ride until I’m happy.

  Check to see if your carb is overflowing when you leave the fuel tap on. If yes then the floats are not working as they should.

  I love watching this, I think I'm has smooth as the guy in grey trousers white top, but most likely like the guy with beard who looks lost. I think I'm responsible for most of the view count, been watching for over a year and tonight alone have watched 5x's

  The guy who looks "lost" was unfortunately suffering from mental health issues caused by a dementia type illness. He was a lovely guy and actually left me some of his records.

  Not having a garage, I also have to work in an old barn. Not ideal, but better than working outside. Fwiw, I just purchased a non running 1997 f650 and will pulling the carbs soon.

  Thanks for the movie. Wondered what is correct position of this short cable with a spring that opposes the throtle cable at the left side of carburetor. I have turned it one way and the other and don't know how it should sit now.

  I did 3 turns out. You can get to it once it's fitted back in if you hold your tongue in the right place!

  You said no lights running this time. Before you changed it, did it run with lights on but cut out when the lights off? That's what's happening on mine.

  Yes, if you have a faulty voltage regulator it puts too much voltage into the system. By turning the lights on it lowers the voltage and the bike runs ok. As soon as you turn off the lights it will not run properly. There is another video of mine showing this.

  Wooowww. I got lost in that carburetor with ya, mate. Motorcycle bliss. My 99 f650 is still going strong, but she's lately been chugging a bit at lower rpms. I know its time to get down to that carb. Thanks for the excellent video.
