Each time I go to create a DHCP server for my VLAN, i get the "invalid" flag.

Did you add an IP address to your vlan first? There’s a few things you need to Interface > vlan interface Ip address on that vlan interface Then run the dhcp wizard against that vlan interface.

I've only seen that when the VLAN does not have an IP address. DHCP Server needs to be on an interface with an IP address, this includes vlans. Now this can change based on if the DHCP server lives elsewhere (like on a Windows DHCP server). Review the video and see if you might have missed a step. Otherwise, reach out to me in the discord and I'll check your config.

Nice, good that you showed how to send it to users without being at the local site, that was the missing piece I didnt understand. Even better, is that with the relay servers, one does not even need to have a public IP or forward a port....... However as noted, its reliant on third party (but free) and right now a single point of failure.......

Many thanks for producing this series. Without your help I probably wouldn't have attempted this as I had assumed I'd need more resources than just the used Intel i5 8Gb NUC with Win10 Pro. I have quite an extensive MikroTik home network that I'm keen to develop.

Thank you so much for this video. I wanted to get VLANs going on a bridge, as that seems to be what MikroTik recommends for performance reasons, even on a router (with a switch chip). @15:25 sums it up nicely, even though it sounds like you're not a fan of VLANs on bridges. I agree it's pretty convoluted to have to add the bridge as Tagged, but I suppose if you think of it from a router point of view, the router sees the bridge as a switch, so there needs to be something tagged coming from it.

Very cool video and I really found your stories very interesting. Receiving a written warning can be a shock to someone who is coming fresh into the industry. Heck I think it would even be a shock to me if I received one today because it puts an extra sense of pressure on you and can potentially make it feel as if everything that you are doing is being put under a microscope. I think the most terrifying experience I have gone through in my own career is being retrenched. Wondering how you will make an income while living with someone and also a terrible feeling. Not sure if that's something you've experienced, though if you have I would love to hear your thoughts about that as well.

Yea, I've been fired / laid off / pay reduced, and everything in-between. All with my wife and kids. Sometimes I'd be very upset or heartbroken, other times I just shrugged and moved on. Now I look back and it was a learning experience. Some companies are awesome, some are not. I try to only work for awesome companies now as I can choose to be picky.

Thank you for sharing your background and what you are planning to do with this channel, I look forward to seeing the content you will be releasing and watching your channel grow! Just some tips from a small KZreadr like myself. 1. Keep uploading content and stay positive! KZread is a game of attrition, I have had many ups and downs with my own channel. In the beginning it may feel like you are just creating content for yourself as views may be low and you might only see someone subscribing every other day or even week. Even though it feels like your work is going unnoticed there are many people like myself that will find your channel and will also spread the word about it. 2. Create "Attractive" titles and thumbnails. This sounds a little silly, however, KZread's algorithm tends to promote videos that it sees can potentially catch the eyes of more viewers. I've seen amazing content creators gain less views on their videos simply because they have either a very generic thumbnail and title. Or they just don't care about it so they let KZread choose some stillframe of the video as a thumbnail. The algorithm tends to just ignore videos like these. So unless you have a big following you will be missing views just because of the "KZread game" 3. If you receive critique, even if it's in the form of someone trying to troll you. Thank them for their viewpoint, but never let an opposing viewpoint make you feel like your video isn't good enough to be on the platform. You are a content creator and you are sharing your own viewpoint and experiences on a certain topic. Even if someone doesn't agree with that viewpoint or considers it incorrect, you are giving your own take on something. (You are allowed to make mistakes, just don't let it bother you too much and if it is something critical you can either re-upload the video stating that something was incorrect or create a pinned comment stating what wasn't correct) 4. Be open to change, sometimes viewers will let you know that there are things that you can do to improve your videos. A very common thing is, and I struggled with this as well is many viewers would tell me that my text is too small in Winbox/Terminal window. Now for me working on a desktop at 1080p everything looks normal. But we rarely consider something that is normal to us is different to other people. Many people might actually be trying to view content on a phone or similar devices and I could definitely see why someone would tell me the text sizes are too small when seeing the content in a different lens. 5. Find tools that can help you create your videos and make the content in a way that you enjoy. I've gone through tons of programs and sites to try and improve my own KZread channel. Here's some of the software/services I've been using over the years just to try and up my production a little bit, some of these are paid for services. EVE-NG Pro (Network Emulation) VMware Workstation Pro (VM Hypervisor) Canva (Thumbnails + Intro/Outro sequences) Filmora X (Video Editing) OBS (Video Recording) Audacity (Voice Recording) Voicemod (Voice Enhancer/Changer) I think those are some of the things I wish someone would have told me when I got into KZread. Good luck with the channel and you are always welcome to message/email me if you just want to talk.
