    how about putting the cam on the side opposite your hands? you can only see those! and maybe make an X with the tape over the work area, so at least you know when the object to be framed is in the center of the screen.

    Hey, man. I found this video doing some research on this kit before I pick it up. I was wondering what modifications you made for better articulation? May be a bit of a longshot to ask in youtube comments, but thanks in advance!

  • @Kbuildsmodels_24
    @Kbuildsmodels_245 ай бұрын

    Hi, thanks for looking at my video, I'm glad to give some advice! For the articulation, I would give it a 6.5 out of 10. Honestly, the elbows have a 90-degree bend but it is not enough in my opinion if you want to do some action poses, like say for example him looking down his rifle. His waist and torso twist well but some of it is hampered by his armor design and his neck could need some more range. For the joints it uses polycaps, if you ever build a High-Grade version of Gundams, it uses the same system. The downside is that they wear off over time so like if you want to raise his arms up they will slowly sag down. But I fixed this by adding some paint on the polycaps just to give it something to hold so it won't wear down and keep his poses in the future. It's more in the middle ground between a Black series of Star Wars figures and a model kit. It's great as an army builder or a display piece but don't expect to so crazy poses with this one, I'm actually thinking on getting a 1/6 Clone Trooper for my display. But nonetheless, it's a beautiful figure and model. Crisp details everywhere and for beginners there's no need to paint so that's a plus. But I painted mine as I found the stock white to "plastic" looking and shiny. Also, it comes with a ton of accessories which is great: Phase one Phase two Helmet Four wrists in gripping and fist positions. Visor DC15 rifle and Carbine Figure base. It's a great model kit to build while listening to Clone Wars lore and drinking Coffee on a Saturday evening. Anyways I hope I was able to answer your question!

    @@Kbuildsmodels_24 hey man, thanks for getting back to me about this. You explained everything pretty well, but I also am curious as to what you changed with the armor. I noticed that in the video, the thigh armor seemed less sharp and less large as the packaging showed. Again, thank you for all the information!

  • @Kbuildsmodels_24
    @Kbuildsmodels_245 ай бұрын

    @BeefBN6 As for the armor, nothing was changed. It could be because I repainted the whole armor white and added chipping effects to make it look worn so it might look different from the box pictures. Anyways im glad I could help with your questions.

    I do have the Revell kit and I honestly didnt like it compared to Trumpeters Dreadnought. It lacks PE parts which Trumpeters already has and Revells is just a rebox of the Zvezda Dreadnought. Trumpeter offers incredible value for money including PE and an anchor chain for a lower price than the Revell kit. Trumpeter - $50 CAD Revell - $90 - 100 CAD But dont get me wrong out of the box Revells is decent but I much prefer Trumpeters Dreadnought. Thanks for watching! I hope I answered your question!

    That one suspended lifeboat is barely containing it’s excitement at the final reveal. Nice model, I’m doing a couple of 1/700 Tamiya waterline kits to get back into the hobby. I’d love to do HMS Dreadnought and Invincible. Those early dreadnoughts/battlecruisers were very utilitarian with few extras for comfort or aesthetics. I’ve not done any Trumpeter kits, but saw a Revell one of Dreadnought in the same 1/350 scale. I know Revell can be very hit or miss so I don’t know what your thoughts are on it? I’ve never used photoetch before… but the results speak for themselves.

    Not bad but you need to work on erasing the seam lines on parts that requires gluing such as the two fuselage halves for example. Scrape off the excess, use putty amd sand it down for a better looking finish on your model

    You'll be fine. I've very seldom seen one leak while in a storage set up that resembles what you're doing here with it. It's usually after it's been used, near the end of it's life, and left in the electronics where it can continue to react. There's so much more cool stuff to talk about that you've done here with your build and video though! Great job on it and genius work using what you have (battery) to do what you need!

    @@Kbuildsmodels_24 I wouldn't say it this way but yes, there is some improvement (don't take it has a bad critic just trying to give advice) to do for the painting, either it's to thick either a problem with your airbrush. Also to thin vallejo paint if u used them wich is most likely the case you don't really need to spend money for the specific vallejo thinner cause you can thin it with water. Just clean it well after use and should be alright been doing that for 2 years no problem. Also i try to insist for the begginner or amateur to make sure to well prep before glueing painting and also test fit it. You can be godlike at weathering but your scale models will still be bad if you don't make that extra effort to sand all of the parts nicely. I know it takes times but it's worth it. Kind of makes me sad your weathering is not bad but the way the paint is loooking needs improvement. Your way of working with the airbrush needs improvement in regularity and technic. First of all you need to work with a layer system so you'll make a layer then wait until that layer dries, takes times but you'll get a better result and understand better how to use an airbrush. Also it seems you tried to make some tones variation but in a weird way, to make those effect i suggest you to check on youtube (what i would do on an aircraft is basically painting my panel lines or rivet line with black and then add some color to the aircraft panels like yellow white blue highly depends on the final colors but very lighty and then slowly cover it with the final color. it's resume so pls do watch a video about it) overall you gotta work more precisely with the airbrus to make those effect but it seems your airbrush is a bit mhhh not good i guess. Don't take it badly i just want to help
