In Japanese, "kodama" (木霊) refers to a type of spirit or phenomenon in Shinto and Japanese folklore. Kodama are believed to be the spirits or echoes of trees and are often associated with sacred or old-growth forests.

We have this in scandinavian folklore aswell. Not the same name but the concept is the same. That streams, trees, rocks, lakes etc have a spirit to them. These are connected to ancestor spirits aswell.

What an album to go out on. I met Tomo in a guitar shop in Brighton before a live gig and he was the sweetest guy. I hope we get to hear about future projects soon.

Knowing this all comes to an end has the same sadness as when I read the last page of a favourite poet or novelist's work: no more pages. But you guys clearly always had the artistic integrity and the cool to quit when on top, and you've been the top of my playlist for years. I hope Guruguru Brain is a smashing success, and if any of you are ever playing in the Tokyo area I hope to catch your new musical projects live, as you guys have always been just amazing live. がんばって!
