  I think the blue knobs are fine, especially since it's a child's desk. -- BTW, I LOVE that you do not FAST-FORWARD your work. Maybe there are times when it's OK, but we who are not so creative as you, need to know what you're doing and how you're doing it, with you speaking about the process. Thank you.

  btw, mineral spirits or thinner doesn't work for clean up. 50/50 household ammonia/water works well and allowed old brush to become reusable.

  Very pretty. The colors go great together. Not a fan of the blue knobs. They look nice when the draw is open. They take over when everything is closed. I would have done the same thing then gone back and painted them the same color as the desk.

  Ya, they do add a pop of color for sure and give the piece a little 'whimsy/child feel, I think. If they were painted the same color as the desk in the Sun Kissed Yellow, it would have been a lovely choice as well imo. Thanks for chiming in!

  Did you ever tint the white shellac? Cabinets are very dark stained oak and the final finish will be an almost black Benjamin Moore Advance alkyd paint. I would rather not use white primer between the two near blacks.

  This is terrible advice. That paint is way too thick. Do not put this on your sprayer...
