"if you rely on transit" is a very sherwod park perspective. Transit isn't just for those who have to use it due to income. It's also for people who want to live more sustainably, value their health, want to avoid traffic, and don't like worrying about parking. "If you want to use transit" makes a lot more sense to say.
Hi! I just found out about your channel and I'm loving your videos! A little different than what we see out there. As a newcomer, I'm really considering Edmonton as my new home, but I wanted to know: is the air in Edmonton as dry as in Calgary? I have some breathing issues and the "dryness" people report from living in Calgary really scares me. Also, do you think climate change will impact Edmonton's urban forest that much to the point the city become "barren"? A BIG factor that makes me consider YEG over YYC is the vast green areas and mature trees scattered throughout the city and it would be devastating to see it all die in the upcoming years :/

Hi. I will be moving to Edmonton soon and your answers to my questions below would be of great help. 1. What was the typical out of pocket cost for a 3 year old kid before the $10 a day announcement? Can you please give a rough estimate for the homes and the centres? 2. Is there a long wait list to get a spot at either the centres or homes? Thanks in advance.
For a 3 year old, you'll probably be looking at around $1000/month without any subsidy. Some places will have waitlists for sure - I can't speak for all of them, but ever since the announcement of the new subsidy programs, there is a lot more interest in daycares now.
