Take a ride with us. My grandson and I like driving around & exploring various places in Towns, Cities, Neighborhoods, Streets, Parks, Beaches, Rivers, Festival Events, Etc. Mainly focusing in Berrien County But I also will make videos of other places out of town if I'm headed that way. In the videos you may have previously lived there at one time, or just want to visit someday. Also for posterity the videos will be around for many years to view on this Channel. I use a hands free dash mounted Go Pro Camera Hero 9. for safety and upload them in 4K HD format for and quality viewing. I just started this Channel on January 11th 2022 So, please help my channel grow by like & subscribe and a thumbs up. I will certainly appreciate it and will keep more of the videos coming. I try to use royalty free back ground music if my grandson not distracting.. :0) Thanks for watching and enjoy the drive. Don Aldrich

What happened to the Humpty Dumpty/Humpty Alexander Dumpty thing at 12:11?
Is there still a tavern on semi northern part of river rd?
No taverns anywhere in this area.
Where's Badts Drugs store?? Gee I don't recognize anything in town. What's that white shite all over the ground?
Times has changed. Snow.lol
You know our property backed up to it and I of course worked there a a kid. I heard Leonard is ill you hear anything? Hugs Rose.
Just did this same drive last week- stopped at 3 antique malls and bought some goodies at the Harbert Swedish Bakery
Actually, you drove around the CITY of David as reorganized by Mary Purnell, or commonly called, [Mary's] City of David. All the property east of the iconic star belongs to the City of David, a separate entity, which was a break-off sect of th House of David when co-founder "King" Benjamin "Ben" Purnell couldn't keep in his pants, so co-founder and his wife, Mary, split off. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!
Should make sticky.
My hometown!
Lived in one of those cabins MANY years ago
Hi Pam!
lets not show the real Hoods!!!
Wow..!😮
I used to live 1041 Euclid in 1999 and went to Martindale school, I had some of the times of my life living in Benton Heights. We moved back to Louisiana in 2001
I remember moving from Louisiana in 1996 and going there then leaving and coming back in December of 1999 and having the best teacher Mrs. Reese and drinking coffee every morning with hazelnut creamer which is my favorite till this day
A lot of memories in that mall! Thank you for showing the pictures, seen alot of friends and family!
Looks like you started in the mono ceramics parking lot i used to work there
I grew up in Watervliet and Deer Forest is where I had my first job at in the summer of '76
If you ever get back there again, tell Barbara that Richard From Park Inn, said Hi. She’s probably in one of the bigger buildings, maybe even the Museum, I just know her house was really big.
Taffy T needs! help there's trying to kill me, Terra Novo
Who cares about this town 😂😂😂
I lived here for many years as a child and then a teenager/young adult. Haven't been back in over a decade. Glad to see it hasn't changed much.
It would be nice if you would inform us what roads are on. Where was the supermarket at? Were you going too fast and went right by it?
It was on Territorial
Usually people put some kind of date…anything like that.
Dowagiac is a small city. But it has a lot of history. Once called the Furnace Capital of the world. ( Stove Town) Most of the furnace and Stove manufacturers were in Dowagiac,Mi. Fishing Lures also Heddon baits. James Heddon lived in Dowagiac in the late 1800s. He invented the artificial fishing lure. Heddon had a factory in Dowagiac until 1984. The History Museum is definitely worth the drive to see.
Salt of the Earth people They had a superior and more sustainable model for society back in the early 20th The .01% were threatened by this model and its raging success THATS why it ended rather abruptly
I worked at MURPHYS CAREER FASHIONS IN BENTON HARBOR SHE USED ME TO MODEL HER CLOTHS I WAS 42
Drive-thru Covert Michigan and make sure to stop by the beach there.
I finally got to try the new bypass today, I love it!
I adopted a little Donkey named Popeye who was taken from that property 13 years ago .
Oh the memories...
wow, I use to live there . . but I can't remember
Hey Don... next time maybe go on out to Scottsdale... and take a peek at the Mark III restaurant... then backtrack just a bit and cut over (west) on Glenlord Rd.... Takes you eventually past Santonello's Italian restaurant... and next cut by Tosi's restaurant on the back road by the beach... and cut farther back on the beach road to "Grande Mere" exit by I-94 and then go up the hill to see the Racine's Grande Mere Inn... now there is some great eateries... (and you are not far from Tabor Hill) or the Cubbie's Getaway in Bridgeman.. enjoy
Sound like a great idea. Thanks

Benton heights is where I was raised and it will always be home. I went to Martindale school k to 6 in the 90s .
I went there k to 6th in the 90s. Good times.
I think I'll go to the K Grille, and get that $1 turkey dinner! Then see if there's another Blue Light Special at the front of the store. The old Kmart had more character than today's Walmart. What was that Creedence Clearwater song? "Let the Blue Light Special shine a light on me"? 😊
Wait, go back to page three! I think I saw something I need.
My Dad Coy Tyndall is in it.
Nice! .. you seen the pic from video?
Yes he was a Senior that year. @ 4:38. Btw love your driving vids! @@drivingdon3292
Seriously Kmart Australia expand into the US. Transformco is not going to revive the brand and you'll have instant name recognition.
I miss Kmart!!! My family used to shop there on the regular!!
Same here.
I miss it to. Shame we will only have Miami and new york after Sept.
I went there K through 6th in the 60's and 70's.
Nice! ...You been there awhile then for sure.
😢 sad
Nice video, but really crappy music background.
Thanks for the input. Looking to change it. It sounds too depressing.
yes, thanks for uploading . . . I remember the churchs, and that's about it
Lived in Lakecrest Ravine Manor there on Cleveland Ave from 1979 'til 1983. Brings back memories!
My sister in law did as well late 90's had some good times there with friends.
HOME ❤️ Been gone too long living in SC - 30 yrs I know why you are doing this and its a great idea Thank you Don 👍
Thank you, But why do you think i'm doing this? Just curious to know. I shall let you know afterwards. Thanks
For posterity is my guess
@@tobyradenbaugh8965 Exactly.. it would be nice to see how things were on video 100+ years ago of this area. I already made videos of buildings that are now gone or soon will be, Motels/Church. I am working on some schools that are empty as well.
Yes! I still marvel at the foresight of people who took the old videoes also on youtube of the streets of Chicago and NYC - decades ago. You are that person👌 You will be legend 100 yrs from now ( if we are still around as a species) Its critical we understand everything about the past, right? And keep records on it HISTORY matters Orwell knew
@@tobyradenbaugh8965 You are correct. history matters. Thank you sir for your input. Also I do hope humans as species will be around to enjoy them 100 yrs from now as it seems, but very true.
03:55 I remember Ruth . . . what a bitch . . .
Wow man, that sucks for somebody.
Yeah, was a total loss.
So sad, I lost my home to fire in 2009 and my grandson who was 3.
I am sorry to hear that. That is so sad. I can't even imagine how that must of been. I think I would of lost it.
I did for a few years. But I learned to cope...most of the time...by the grace of God.
Amen to that. God is great.
This was planned or it just happened?
No it happened few days ago after this video.
A sad day. Benton Harbor loses another land mark.
Yes, I agree. I'm sure it will not be restored and hauled away.
