Early 1900's homes are the most beautiful people buildt amazing things back there
As a person born and raised in Seattle, the one thing I can note is that Germany is a breath of fresh air in comparison.
Hi there, could you expand on that? I have lived in Berlin and recently moved to Raleigh, NC, and we are thinking to move to Seattle. To my understanding there’s much to do in Seattle and better life style given my family and I have no relatives living in the US and it gets really boring here in Raleigh
Hi Bryce! Great stuff! I'd love to work with you, Need a video editor, I can edit one video for free to show you my work. If you're interested, just let me know! 🙂
Moved here from south Florida and have zero regrets!
i wish this video talked about access to public transit
snohomish looks like an old person town
Want to move to Seattle? Don't. This place hasn't been the same since the tech bros. relocated here from Silicon Valley during the 2010's, and y'all ruined my hometown, f'ed up housing prices, and destroyed the gay scene on Capitol Hill. Artists and musicians used to have a thriving scene here, that's where grunge came from, but they are all gone now because housing and the cost of living caters to tech bros. making 6-figure salaries. The "Seattle Freeze" didn't exist until everyone from CA and NY decided to start moving here in the late 80's when Seattle was voted "Most Livable City". Suddenly housing prices skyrocketed and locals started getting priced out, and my school was full of kids from out of state. THAT's what caused the "Freeze"; having people move here hasn't done anything good for this city and the locals are VERY aware of that. You have NO CLUE how many wonderful businesses and funky hangouts have been torn down for ugly apartment housing. This city gets more generic and less interesting every year. The weather here isn't the same as it used to be either. Our garden zoning got changed from 8b to 9a this year because of climate change. We used to NEVER get weather above 90 and now it happens every summer. Much of the housing here has NO A/C because we used to not need it, and now every time it gets hot people struggle to stay cool. The wildfire thing is very, very recent for this area BTW. We also have one of the most regressive state tax systems in the country. High sales tax means lower income folks pay a higher percentage of their income in tax, and anything that needs to get done tends to raise property taxes. The fight to tax large corporations like Amazon that have had a massive impact on the region keep getting blocked, so gradually people have been getting priced out of the area so only the wealthy can afford to live here. Anyone working-class that is employed in the area has to live where it's affordable, generally in places south of Seattle that have a long-standing violent crime problem, and commute an hour+ to work.
Redmond's Goodwill really the best world class fashions for the ladies in Washington (Bel-Red road)
Not a bad list. I would add: 1. Cost of living vs wages (the middle class has really taken a huge hit) 2. Crime (it's gotten out of hand) 3. Homelessness and drugs are rampant up and down the I-5 corridor. This wasn't much of an issue a decade ago.
What about the so-called "Seattle freeze"? How are the people there? How are race relations compared to open minded LA for example? Is that something for new people to consider?
Expand the roads -- not a mind blowing idea. Been here 10 years & no regrets.
Me too
You've got good info, but the POP POP WHOOSH sound effects and bad porn music that's too loud make your videos hard to watch. I didn't even get a quarter of the way through before I gave up.
Be sure to get the housing that comes with Kevlar insulation. Siding is easy to patch. You are not.
They are doing a bunch of bridge repairs/construction, I'm basically going to avoid that area this summer. Daughter lived in Duvall years ago love that area, but its going to slowly get ruined like the rest of King County.
Much more economical to rent right now
SEATTLE IS A LIBERAL SHIT HOLE, EVERYONE AROUND HERE HATES TO HAVE TO DRIVE THERE. SMART BUSINESS IS MOVING OUT.
Great video, my only suggestion would be an idea of how much the HOA fees are at each building. Sometimes they can be 1k+ per month.
It's amazing. I grew up there. Almost drowned in that lake. Lol
I live in Arlington Washington and I can confirm it is a great little town with a bunch of antique stores. Arlington also has a couple restaurants like the bluebird cafe and the stilly dinner. Sadly they are building a bunch of apartment buildings taking away from that small town feel. The population hear is about 25,000 I hope this info helps
Is there any video focusing on townhomes on the east side?
Hello! Did the King County video ever come out?
ISLAND LIFE, YOU WILL SPEND A HOUR IN TRAFFIC EVERYDAY.
I need a house in Lynwood city , can you rent a house for me?
THIS GUY IS CLUELESS ABOUT THE LOCAL LAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FROM THE PEOPLE THAT GROWN UP HERE, LIBERAL DOUCHES STAY AWAY.
HE GOES TO THE PARK THAT NEVER GETS USED!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
It's been mentioned before, but the "Seattle freeze" and the passive aggressiveness of people. I've spent time in Boston and NH, along in Los Angeles, and my New England accent has come out a LOT more since I've been up here, which has been off and on for a few years now. That said, I can't STAND passive aggressive people and I make it well known, so, I throw on my BAWston accent and my strong assertive behavior let people know that if they TRY being passive aggressive with me, I'll call it out. Being anything than passive aggressive will make you ZERO friends, but that would require what people think. I know people here say that people from the East Coast are "rude", but in actuality, we're not. We're blunt and forward. We have zero time to deal with bs or mind games. That said, I'm stuck here for another two years and I hope those two years fly by QUICK!
Cost of living in Washington is broken.
Dangerous drivers, traffic etc. I don't even like visiting there.
How abt Shoreline?
Bryce is absolutely The Best realtor we’ve worked with over our many home purchases. He’s attentive, thorough and helpful. He takes the time to really understand what we need. He is familiar with man areas, not just Seattle-proper, allowing us to consider the pros and cons of various areas - without being restricted. He knows the market and takes the time to understand our specific likes & dislikes. He also helped us find competent inspectors, mortgage brokers and got referrals from other customers of his for other trades. He was always looking out for our best interests and went above and beyond on several occasions throughout our home-buying process. If you want someone you can trust and who really knows the area - not just Seattle-metro - Bryce is the guy!
Thank you for the kind words, Bliss! It was an absolute pleasure helping you and Mike!!
The people are rude, the food does suck, and the driving is bad.
A great video. Kindly please tell me about the affordable and cheap homes with public transportation in Seattle. Thanks
Referring to SF as "the pacific northwest" is such a Californian thing to do.
Cali transplant, classic, but I love the rain and long cold season. I would never live in Seattle proper but Kirkland/Redmond/Bellevue/Ballard/Bothell/Lake Forest Way/Shoreline are all awesome suburbs IMO. You can be 30-45 mins away from everything in the city (which isn't a ton tbh, Seattle lacks nightlife and real attractions outside of Pike Place) and not be affected by the drugs and crime (which isn't a ton either tbh). I prefer a sleepy city so I enjoy Seattle, I like the transit options as they've always gotten me where I needed to be :) Excited to see how the light-rail expands and improves in the next 10-20 years.
Yes, it's terrible here! Whatever you do, don't move here. Stay in your amazing home, especially if you are from California.
Live here all my life. I really hope people not from this area leave. These people have brought their shitty attitude here.
Everything is overpriced. Undeniable
"Why People REGRET Moving To Seattle" Because Seattle is ran by feelings and the PC police rather than logic, reason, etc. I like Washington but I would never live in or around Seattle.
Can u suggest other cities in Washington pls?
Seattle is so awful avoid at all costs, just kidding we love it here but people are right it's expensive the winters are dark, but there are tons of perks including higher paying jobs, opportunities, amazing outdoors, mostly good drivers, long summer days, the food options are really good you just need to be willing to try different places and travel around the area TOSHIS, Sushi, middle eaten, only a couple good bbq places but lots of good pizza too
East side is most desirable? No mention of Capital Hill?
Capital hill isn't that impressive in my honest opinion.
Everyone moving in is Indian or Asian. So if you want to come to new New Delhi then move to Bellevue or Redmond.
Seattle DOES have weather extremes in the form of rain. It can rain every day for 3 weeks at a time. We often have cold rainy weather nonstop from May into mid July. We just had a week of 50-degree days in the middle of June. Summers are short and typically have maybe 8 weeks of sunny warm weather.
Thinking of relocating here but after the comments I'm definitely cautious. Would be for work. That, and Phoenix AZ is the worst city in America and i might die if i have to stay here another year 😭
I lived in Seattle in the 90’s thru the early 2000’s - it was awesome! Then I got married and wanted to put down real roots (buy a home) and now live in Tacoma. That’s where it was affordable.
What sucks more, Seattle or all the street workers in Aurora?
OMG!! I lost it looking at the Greenwood property because I recognize the building. You can expect johns and hookers in front of your property night after night and you will hear gunshots about once a week. Ask the current owners of property #3 how many times they looked outside the window at the 6:52 mark to see some guy named Arnold running around naked fighting with the police before he was put into a home. There is a reason its only $500,000 and I'm sure the value has decreased after the gang shootout a block away from this about 2 weeks ago (see attached vid) kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3V3mrprkbKYkso.html
Living is eastern Washington you can boohoo smoke. You cowards don’t know what real smoke season is, just like you don’t know what real snow is!
Disagree on the food. We may have variety of food options but doesn’t mean that they are good. I’m not even comparing to LA or NY. Fine dining is the worst.
