I was mainstreamed but very badly bullied. I got badly beaten a lot. I think I would have had a better life in special schools 😊Now I suffer depression and anxiety. I don’t believe in myself. I feel worthless and only good for a punching bag. I believed all the negative stuff said to me.

They are kidnappers there has to be a better way. These days reunification isn’t the CPS goal especially in the US it is very lucrative for the states and the children come out worse for being in foster care . I knew a family that was separated because they like their kid play in a fenced in back yard while the mom was washing dishes from breakfast the kid was 10 they called it neglect but the truth was their next door neighbor didn’t like them and wanted them gone. The parents lawyered up and got their kid back but CPS was relentless it was like they got put on some kind of radar. They can harass parents even after they have proven themselves fit over and over again. Their child however didn’t come back the same she went through trauma while in foster care. So the end result CPS traumatized this family and harmed the child. They also had a six month old boy in the home as well so they might have been after getting him adopted because that’s the prime age and interest for the states to make the most money. The family won a restraining order with the judge saying that it was appalling the were continuing to harass them and ordered CPS to stop perusing the matter.

Just because someone has a disability it doesn't mean they have to date someone else with a disability. What if their soulmate happens to not have any mental or physical disabilitiy? I think people with disbilities should not be so limited when looking for love. Yes they need the support from a carer but they should be able to date from a bigger pool of people.

Did,...did I understand that mother correctly? When her and her daughter were reading off the persons profile, and it said, " tall, dark, & looking for his Cinderella ". The mom says, " well in your case, one of the stepsisters. " Was that an insult to her??! Felt like it. Surely, mom wasn't that big a jerk.

that is really cool, unfortunately in most places relationships - even close friendships are actively discouraged and prevented, i was in special Olympics 20 years ago,, as well as in the adult social services, and they DO NOT allow relationships they actively would separate people, and would not allow people to form close bonds, i was mis DX'd as DD/MR due to bad evals, i actually have a couple of learning disabilities, ( issues with math, and reading comprehension, and general processing issues ) but i was not tested properly, nor was i ever given proper accommodations, instead i was quickly written off as slow / delayed DD, and ended up in the system, luckily i got out, but i tell ya, after a little over 20 years of not being allowed, or given any access to potential relationships, even when quite a few case workers and helper-aids would ask , ''a re you interested in friendships, or other relationships as in romantic / love '' i said yes, and id love it if they could help me network and meet people'' not a single one of them would... they all said after i answered yes and asked for help, they said things like : oh i really dont know anyone, or i dont have much in ways of friends myself'' thankfully i got out, i even got tested with a visual based test, that is geared for folks who are known to be learning disabled, or its suspected, and i scored over 100, if i remember right it was 102, in all areas was at or a little over 100.

The comments from the other residents made my blood boil but not somrthing I haven't heard for 30 years when working in learning disability. A big stumbling block for some so called 'normal' people seems to be epilepsy for some reason, people are afraid of it. I am so glad to see people leaving home at last but the transition needs to start much younger and at the same time to be helped to get a job so that they can lead fully rounded happy lives and also to have a relationship, if they want to. Good luck to them all.

Just because a person has cerebral palsy does not mean they are intellectually challenged. That means they are completely aware of their surroundings and have the same desires as “able bodied” persons. I hate when people speak to these people like they are dumb.

Patrick: as a Muslim man living with my grandmother is quite degrading and I love women in The niqab I find them attractive piously and also attractive and beauty because women's need cobs are sometimes ironed pressed and beautiful but if I had to date a disabled Muslim woman I would love her without her niqab in the house and with her niqab outside the house but as Shakespeare said and I am sure it is Shakespeare beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that is quite true as much as I as a Muslim like material objects and I still do not let the material things mislead me from the path of Allah but on the contrary I think as a human being's body I would like to say there is no perfect standard to human beings anatomy and capability but I don't know too many women and niqab that are disabled thank you!

Shows like this INFURIATE me. Why on EARTH is there NEVER anyone disabled like ME shown on such programmes?! Who CANNOT go to anywhere communal and therefore rowdy, and cannot marry anyone and suffer absolutely APPALLING conditions all the time, every morning, noon and night! Like far more severe misophonia, which means being totally cut off socially, and being FAR too HOT all the time and sweating profusely, even here in the north of england, even in the winter! What if you're absolutely paralysed and immobilised by the absolutely BRUTAL frying HOT weather in the summer?! What if you have all manner of complex life RUINING disorders forced on you so you can't have ANY remotely "normal" life at ALL?!
