    If you ever come to Tampa Florida area let me know. Thank you for these videos. Forgive me if I overlooked this somewhere, but what year and model of Corsair do you have? We have 2000 24MkII. Barely relevant but my grandmother (Kinberg/Rystrom) was among the Swedes that made home in central Nebraska 😊

    Very nica sailing - the best - light and sunny around the islands. X-79 - would be interesting to experiment with one - rotating carbon mast and fat head main + bowsprit and gennaker. Maybe some lifting boards to make stability. Smokers!!! .... yes!

    Hi Christopher, I’am Stephane from France, owner of a Coraire Dash 750 and absolute beginner. Can you please tell me which genoa furler you use on your boat ? Thank you for your channel and topics.

  • @outlawsailing
    @outlawsailingАй бұрын

    Hi Stephane from France! Thanks for watching my channel, and fun you have a Dash 750. For my small jib, its a regular -original jib furler. However, I think you ask about the large Code0 furler, when you write genua-furler. That is a Profurl NEX0.9. A really good furler actually, that easy to furl-out and also do not "un-furl" by misstake. A bit expensive but works great! www.clippervoiles.com/en/nex-flying-sail-furlers-profurl-clipper-voiles-xml-352_362-17193.html

    I like knots and nautical miles with boats. It's super confusing for me when they in Everglades Challange mix units and measures the distance in US miles and then speed in knots. If your speed is 1 knot, your will travel 1 NM in 1 hour. Easy as it can get.

    Nice Video. I had to laugh at Freedom Units. Hmmm. Freedom from what? the British? You mean the British Empire? The British invented the Imperial system, which the US call Freedom units. If they want the real "freedom" units it would be the opposite of what the British use, right? The METRIC system!! LOl.

    Thanks for sharing. This saved me from making the same mistake. The board is double sided and dense with components. I used a very fine tip soldering iron at 300C and a magnifying glass. I tinned the legs of the switches with a minute amount on solder then touched the tined cable ends to the legs (not the board) with the iron for about 1 second. All works well. I used very thing flat cat5 8-core network cable. The +/-1 and the +/-10 switches share a common connection so it's only necessary to solder 6 cables. The tin flat cable passes more easily over the drive mechanism. Beware when testing not to let the motor continue to try to work when the rod is in the fully extended or fully in positions as this can damage it. There is no end stop switch (another project)... Not yet tested on the boat by range is very good - at least 15m.

  • @outlawsailing

    Thanks for the comments and nice that you make it work. I'm not good with soldering, but a friend of me luckily saved the autopilot mess I did :) Anyway, use it almost every time I use my boat. Really nice.

    Christopher, can you share a wiring diagram with the 6 cables instead of 8? Thanks.

  • @christopherrolfe9342
    @christopherrolfe93422 ай бұрын

    @@quiquetorres5040 I can't post a diagram here. But if you look at the photo at 2:33 on the video - the two white cables on the +1 are the same, so you can just run one white cable to the +1 on the RF switch then bridge it over to the -1 on the RF switch. Hard to explain. Check with a multimeter which pegs are common. Note that the +1 and -1 have a common connection but it's not common between the +/-1 and +/- 10.

  • @quiquetorres5040
    @quiquetorres50402 ай бұрын

    @@christopherrolfe9342 Thanks. Let me try to understand this. The two white cables (one on the +1 and the other in the -1) are the same so I only need one of these two to run back to the RF receiver to the NO port then bridge the NO ports for +1 and -1 on the RF receiver. The same aplies to the white cables on the -10 and +10. All the color coded cables (two green, yellow, brown) remain the same and connect back to the RF receiver on the COMM port. Am I close or completely lost?
