1/2" EMT conduit fits the inside of the cocking tube perfectly

Very nice! Nicely done! Question, do you have any issues with the emitter being obstructed? I know this is a problem with open emitters in general, but I'm wondering if it's exacerbated, comparable or negligable compared to other contemporaries.

Just came across one of these. Seems to be missing part of the magazine ie the inner tube and spring. Been looking but not sure what exactly I have or don't have. Would you be able to help me out?

Yeah, I had problems with every build where fitting the magazines came into play. I honestly think the stampings have the mag catch located a little to high up. I'd actually like it if they lowered them maybe .03"-.05" or so

Decent video. I've built about 5 of them and I'm a terrible welder. I had a buddy come over and assist with the welding. I had problems with burn through and one think I did, that could help others, was to turn a solid copper rod as a heat sink. It performed two purposes with regards to the cocking tube, one is it assisted with alignment and second it kept the welding process from burning through in case I got a little too squirely with the amperage. I have a few MP5 tools like that which I've done.

I’ve had a full few kits laying around for a while, one even with the proper Cetme C receiver. I’ve been hemming and hawing about taking the plunge on a bending jig, also I’m pretty slick with a mig welder but I’d much rather practice up with my tig welder and do all of my welds like that.

Dude, you're better off by on the actual h.K parts kits from HK, because then you have the proper U.S made parts that you have to have by law Rather than having to buy them separate You'll have the right shelf to pen set up. You literally just wasted a bunch of money because you have to buy some replacement parts.

Some things many sources don't cover... Keep a carding wheel down to about 800rpm. Way slower than bench grinder will give you. 'Rain water' or even well water, or filtered well water is likely better than distilled, which often times has aluminum in it from the cheaper non-glass tubes used by the cheap sources. Best water is reverse osmosis, which a good under sink setup can be had for ~$200. Rust Blue branded solution should be cut with Everclear, highest proof, as wetting agent. Boiling works better than steaming I think.

Fellas, and ladies, it's not Demill, it is Demil. DeMil is De Militarization. It's the process of destroying military items so that they cannot be used for their original purpose. The way everyone says demill is like youre undoing a milling process, which is not correct. Every military weapon has a minimum level of demil that has to be met, and they dont care about your convenience for using the parts to build a new rifle. For instance, some demil processors might go ahead and cut the rear sight off of the Cetme so you dont have to, but that isn't a demil requirement. Think of AK parts kits for example. Good kits have sights, trunnions and gas blocks de-pinned and removed from the cut portions of barrel. Other kits still have sights, trunnions, and gas blocks pinned and attached to cut pieces of barrel. The demil requirement is that the barrel be destroyed, and each part seperated from the next. If the processor wants to just take a torch to the receiver and barrel then their requirements are met; whoever buys those demilled rifles just bags everything up and sells it as a parts kit. Other processors take the time to press pins out, drill out rivets and depopulate the barrel, but that's just a bonus for you; it's not required. My point is, these kits have already gone through the demil process and you aren't demilling anything. You are removing the parts you need from the remnants of the already demilitarized rifle.

@BabyFaceP I got a few questions for ya:) 1. How did you remove the old rubber trim? 2. The SBR rubber trim from McMaster-Carr is it special in any way material wise or is just like any other rubber trim? 3. What glue/adhesive did you use for the rubber trim? Someone commented that the JB marineweld doesn’t really stick well to rubber.

@@BabyFaceP you could turn the welds off the cooking tube in the lathe too, along with using the mandrel to keep things lined up when you weld it again later.
