I’ve spent years in 2WD rigs on Forest Service and BLM roads, but that isn’t “off-road” it’s better thought of as off pavement. True Off-Road is the domain of 4x4’s, of which I’ve owned a few too, but 4x4’s can get the unprepared in even deeper trouble than a 2WD. I’ve learned the hard way you best be prepared with either. I know in Oregon people die every year because they get in over their head in the woods with 2WD and 4WD rigs.

“Any situation”?? Is there a disclaimer I didn’t see in there somewhere? Looks very sketchy, but your enthusiasm is great! You can have a lot of adventures with a 2WD pickup, but you have to know your limitations, or the adventure may have you.

I tried off-roading with a 2wd Cherokee with MTs I struggled and had to speed through the sand and got stuck defiantly not fun off-roading you have to be worried about not getting stuck every second basically. I have a TJ on 35s now… just save up for a cheap 4x4 you can’t off-road with any practicality in a 2wd

2WD Ford Ranger here, and I off-road when launching my boat on sand (16-foot V bottom). Got stuck once, for like 3 seconds then gradually hit gas while moving wheel and got out. Sandy, off-roading, ran into a patch of sand, and it caved in. Got a shovel and mats in case I do get stuck, will buy a winch eventually for my new bumper, but I'm not too worried about getting stuck as there are plenty of people dying to use their winches at Buchanan Lake.

Most people doing most off-road don't need to air down. Hundreds of hours in my jeep and it's just not necessary most of the time. Does it make for a little bit smoother a ride? Sure. But if you just running a 2 inch lift and 32's you probably not doing anything that requires air'n down.

Wait? NO NO NO.. DO NOT! Use that hitch as a recovery point. It will KILL YOU. Many people die that way. Better to make a bridle , bolt a chain sling under the bumper...use a treesaver or a recovery hitch D-ring. If you do not have a winch. I highly recommend you to get a high lift jack. Or redneck it with a a 2x4 (notched or slited ...for a strap on both sides) to strap onto you positive drive tire Edit... I see I'm late to the game.

I'll have to make a video of how I air down because I'm still confused why nobody has talked about the old school white stick pressure checker that has a nipple deflator on the other side of it. Yes I use a high speed deflator when I'm not making minor adjustments. I use a combination of the white stick pressure checker and the high speed deflator and a four tire air hose.

@guitardaddy6 Жыл бұрын
Because the advice isn't solid. The compressor is cheap and takes forever. The ball is a terrible recovery point because it COULD AND DOES KILL PEOPLE. that radio is a short range radio and nobody would likely hear you if you got stuck. The only good points about this video are the air down tools and the traction board.
