Looking to move with my wife from the UK too. Ik America has its problems but man cant beat the high salaries and big houses. In my field of work there should be a lot of jobs i can migrate down the h1b route. Can i ask, how did you fit in socially? Was it easy to make friends?
@homeatclementine2547 Жыл бұрын
You definitely should, we’ve built a life out here and it’s hard to look back. Socially we’ve never had any problems fitting in. Where we lived there was a big expat community so that helped but also we made friends through work, neighbors etc. I think if you’re open to other cultures, you will be just fine. Good luck!

No. This was when we initially discussed moving to the states and I wasn’t pregnant then. We found out I was pregnant a week before we left and we would have stayed if that’s what I would have wanted.

Did a Bath & Body Works haul yesterday and the place was busy. Both men and women were in and out of there like clockwork. The only had the Strawberry Pound Cake lotion left nobody cream, body mist, or shower jel. So I'll just order it and people were shopping for candles like crazy they got a candle sale goin on buy 1 get 1 free. The one the clerk insisted that I get was the White Pumpkin & Chai and the body mist is so bomb, it has to be perfume strength.

Yeah around this time of year I find it’s always super busy! Oooo I’ve not tried the strawberry pound cake, I’ll have to try it next time I go to the store! I didn’t see the white pumpkin and chai one but that sounds awesome! I think I love most bath and body works scents!

The Food Network website has a REALLY good banana bread recipe that we've been making repeatedly! We're also about ready to harvest the apples off of our tree in the front yard so we're planning some tasty apple desserts to bake soon! 🍎 Also cornbread is super easy to make, and goes great with stew or chili for an Autumnal dinner! I have no idea what conkers are! Hahaha Conkers is the word I use when play bopping my cat on the head! What are they? 😅 As someone from the UK, do you celebrate Thanksgiving now that you live in the US?
@homeatclementine25473 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah I’ll check out The Food Network! Wow all of those sound so good! I love the autumnal foods! They are large brown seeds that grow on a horse chestnut tree! They make great fall decor but are supposed to be good for keeping spiders from your house! My partners dad is American so we do celebrate it!
@MelissaC3 жыл бұрын
@@homeatclementine2547 Ohh yeah!! I've always just called them horse chestnuts! We have those around where I am. They make me feel festive. Another one that is a huge part of my childhood is the black walnut. They come in a green leathery casing and once a squirrel eats it, it has this dark brown center. We used to play with them as kids when they would fall off our trees. They have a really strong smell and it takes me back to Autumn as a kid when I smell it!
