The majority of the fishing on this channel is lure fishing where we target Pike, Perch and zander with the occasional lure fishing session for other species like chub.
In the river off season we hit the canals/lakes for big pike, Zander and perch. Returning to rivers as soon as they become available searching for pike, perch, Zander, barbel, chub, carp and other river fish.
Occasionally we'll switch it up and try some other fishing styles like feeder and float fishing, fly fishing or anything else that seems fun/interesting/entertaining
Pike is the biggest focus of the channel and we aim to catch bigger and better fish every year. We aim to push ourselves, learning new techniques, giving advice on how to catch more fish but we'll include the occasional video covering certain subjects in more detail, provide reviews and insight on certain gear or try something a little different.
Lots of lure fishing, feeder fishing and float fishing for all different species.
Let's get fishing!

I just paid $1 for 30lb braided line. New to braided line so I wanted to test it without going broke lol. Just waiting for it to show up
let me know how you get on when it does
I've bought a lot of braided line from Amazon. Cheap Chinese stuff. Caught a lot of big striped bass on 30lb line. Would recommend it.
I'm certainly finding it's working fine. I'm using the lighter stuff I mention on this video on 3 rods now. it's held up for months after catching plenty of pike, perch and Zander.
thats a right dink
Definitely not the smallest I've caught
@@LG_Fishing didn't even know pike got smaller then that tbf
Good review I have the Dark Wolf ultra and Shimano Alderbaran and the Shimano SLX BFS reels, I started with the Dark Wolf and progressed to the Alderbaran and that's the way to go if you don't like BFS fishing you have not wasted to much money, I have just subscribed and liked your channel.
I suspect I'll go down a route not too dissimilar. I'm aiming to lighten my braid and wire next and really try the dragon/dark wolf ultra combo heading down to the 1g mark. thanks for the sub.
Awesome video man!! Top water bite are always cool! I love watching your videos, I make fishing videos as well and yours are really well done!! Keep up the good work! 💪👌
Cheers
One of the better real world reviews of these reels. Thank you for the detail in casting/feel differences between the various combinations
I'll probably do a Follow up in a few months of the tsurinoya dragon and dark wolf ultra. my plan is to really lighten up the braid on it, give it a good service and see how it lasts after heavy usage.. Thanks for watching
Сидіти треба всю ніч,щоб щось спіймати!А це-не рибалка!!!😮😮
👍
Я б цього щупачка відпустила! Дякую рибалки з України!
👍
Awesome content, just subscribed can’t wait for more like this
Awesome, thank you!
the tsurinoya dragon is class mate i have it paired with a curado bfs and its lovely
I'm looking forward to taking it on a river today if I can.
Thanks for the video ❤
Cheers
Well in fella! Some nice hits close to the bank there 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers mate, theres usually a lot of pike hanging in the margins here.
I generally use around 12cm on the bigger rivers 9cm on the big canals and smaller rivers then 7cm on the little canals and catch as many perch as i do decent pike ;)
I definitely get most my hits on the 16cm, but the rivers and canal I tend to fish most are quite big. That said I'm really enjoying fishing with smaller baits at the moment on lighter kit, especially when it brings in more perch, something I've not caught a huge amount of on lures in the past.
No reason to hook this baby pike
Nice session and a lovley pike ;) Well done
Thanks 👍
great video and incredible fish. great stuff man!
Thanks 👍👍
I miss pike fishing since I broke my back but ill soon have an electric handcycle wheelchair attachment and get along the canals, aslong as i dont catch any big uns which im an expert at. I got a BFS set up so it perch I'll target
Sounds like a plan. I've had great fun with the BFS setup recently.
Nice video.
Many many thanks
Nice video glad it's not just me that struggles at times.
We all get bad days from time to time. Thankfully it wasn't too many sessions this winter
Recent subscriber great video.Would like to learn more about lure type and rod and reel set up as I'm new to lure fishing (fed up of match style fishing).❤
Keep you eyes out for videos in the future I should definitely cover some of my setups. Lure fishing for sure gets my vote for not sitting on a spot for hours hoping fish are active
Ha yea good spot I'd just put this together and didn't notice until a few casts in. You'd be surprised how many lakes like this are on people's doorsteps, you'd never know this lake was here unless you're familiar with the area.
I have a great lake on my doorstep with Carp up to mid 30's. It does have Pike in it but no body fishes for them really so there potentially a few 20lb fish in there as it's an old lake. But it's a syndicate fishery and I can't be arsed with all the bureaucracy 🥴
yea I bet that would be tricky to fish for pike without being approached, even if you did get the okay.
5:08 Your rod rings were way out of line dude. What a great lake, i wish that i had that on my door step. Great video, thanks for sharing. What breaking strain braid do you use or recommend please?
The braid I'm using here is jbraid, 0.28mm it's ~25kg breaking strain. It's way overkill but I use this braid when fishing really snaggy areas. It's absolutely overkill for the fish I typically catch, I'd aim for about 16kg on a medium setup like this if fishing for pike and use a similar rated wire.
Nice pike 😊
Thanks. the first was a nice surprise. I hadn't expected anything that big. The second was just icing on the cake back to back doubles really made the session for me.
Subscribed cheers for the video.
Thanks for watching 🎣
I found temu braid tangles and breaks easily.....unless it's me.
I definitely don't think all braids are built equally and a few, especially from these types of sites, are definitely not great. It's the one part of my tackle I'm generally pretty sceptical about skimping on, but with costs of braid almost doubling over the last couple of years I had to test some out. The lighter ANGRYFISH option in my video has blown me away (so much so I've since ordered some more) - at this point I've got it spooled on 3 reels and have caught loads of pike, perch and the occasional zander on them without any issue at all. I am after some thinner stuff at the moment for my BFS setup, but as far as I've found I'm going to be limited to some branded stuff for anything decent I am a little concerned based on initial impressions on JOF one, I'm yet to test it much during actual fishing sessions, but I found it to not hold up to it's rating, at least on the first few meters on the spool - it did seem better after this, but that put me off enough initially to not have massive confidence in it - I'll definitely test it more soon and get an update video out. I think this type of thing will happen across all products from sites like this, but there's some absolutely great products out there if you either know what to look for (or find a brand that seems to produce decent stuff) - Keep your eyes out for future videos I'll be testing out BFS reels, rods and lures from these sites very soon. Thanks for watching.
first one to comment, great catches buddy! :D
Plenty more fish in my other videos ;)
@@LG_Fishing will check them out for sure!
Did you ever go home? 😂😂
Some say I'm still there to this day having one last cast.
Well done, wish my last session on the river went so well. Keep it up mate.
cheers! can't wait to get back on the rivers. excited about doing some BFS and top water fishing as well as trying to smash some PBs
A great end to the season, can't wait for the next one... Canals and lakes for a while I guess. Happy mother's day for last month!
💕 Wow💚💚💚💚💙💙💙
- Owen Wilson, probably.
What do you think, anything you've bought from AliExpress, Temu or similar that you were surprised with, either good or bad.
Keitech copy lures from Ali Express have been excellent. Pretty much exactly the same at a fraction of the cost 👍
@@leftmono1016 I've got a few clones in my stash, including an easy shiner equivalent. Whilst quality of them doesn't seem quite as good as the originals (and I'm sure there's some material differences we should be considering) I've still caught plenty of fish on lures like this. I've had really good sessions on keitech lures in the past but they also seem to have gotten fairly expensive recently, especially for soft plastics.
@@LG_Fishing - yeah Keitech have become expensive, and it’s not always easy to get the colours you want. Pink has been good for me with perch and chub. I tend to use the swing impact and swing impact fat, although my pb perch was caught on a 5 inch easy shiner with a 5/0 hook whilst trying for pike. The Ali Express copies are very supple and swim nicely. I’m sure they’re not quite as good, but around 90% there.
@@leftmono1016 I'll check pink out. It's not a go to colour for me. I usually find suppliers seem to be dropping natural colours in favour of bright or UV ones which I'm not quite as much a fan of.
@@LG_Fishing - pink white and natural for me. Subscribed btw, keep up the good work 👍
What a great game, a classic and one of the best fishing games around. Any suggestions of other fishing games I should check out? Don't worry I won't be posting any more video game footage - April Fools!
This is the content we all wanted to see
If only. you're going to be disappointed when the next video isn't sega marine fishing
Good job and nice pike. New subscriber here. Keep them vids coming and tight lines.
Thanks. New videos incoming!
Always nice to catch a Walleye every now and then!
Yea, I wouldn't mind catching a walleye sometime, though we don't get them in our waters. Even these Zander aren't native. From a little digging around it looks like they were both introduced to lakes in the UK sometimes around 1920-1930 and both seemingly made it in to our water ways. As far as I can tell though the walleye only made it in to a few rivers of which apparently became so polluted most fish in them died out and no walleye exist in our waters any longer.
You've got quality content. Keep posting videos I believe you'll your going to go far. I mean I found your video in my fyp. Tight Lines !!
Cheers, it's been a slow winter for me in terms of content but lots of plans for this year.
Great video! Solid 🎣 Keep the videos rolling.
Thanks. Will do!
how long is the treble hook with line on the 16cm one
replied on the other thread
how much gram is the screw in jighead on the 16 cm pro grub
I change depending on the water but typically though a good weight for me is 12-15g you get a reasonable drop rate when straight retrieve is the focus. 5-7g works well on slower water or when fishing slower near the surface works well, especially if a slower jigged retrieve is needed They'll happily take 20+g if you really need to get the bait down.
I'm the video though likely I'm using 12g
and how long is the treble hook with that metal line ? @@LG_Fishing
The wire between the hook and jig head is essentially long enough so that the treble (I usually use a size 1 on these but sometimes a 1/0) sits nicely in the body before the tail (too close to the tail and you get a lot of the tail getting caught in the hooks) - the wire is probably only about 5cm long excluding crimps.
U mentioned what was missing at the beginning of your vid and I think it may have been the wire trace bro
A good point, but not quite what's missing. I've been set up with strong fluorocarbon trace for a while on this setup. I prefer wire but I happened to have a couple fluorocarbon traces ready to go. Truthfully I don't find much difference in terms of hit rate with Pike fishing fluorocarbon vs wire, though I've never lost a fish because of fluorocarbon I'm certain fluorocarbon is more effective when fishing for perch and chub - that said unless I'm confident I'm not going to be getting much attention from pike I still tend to use small wire in that situation. Fluorocarbon definitely isn't as resistant as wire, and I'm carful to check for damage as it won't hold up anywhere near as long as wire against pike teeth.
I've always used fluoro carbon over wire and have never been bitten off. It's the standard in other parts of Europe.
@@WilliamInder-jj6ox most people I know swear by it, I'm still not convinced it makes much difference for pike.
@@LG_Fishing I don't use it for presentation, all though it's obviously less visible. I just like being able to quickly cut a piece of the spool and with ease and speed tie to lure and braid. Much cheaper too!
@@WilliamInder-jj6ox I'm not sure I've ever tried tying this fluorocarbon. I do with lighter stuff if perch fishing and have done with wire too. But generally I crimp most my stuff
Really good video idea! Definitely got me hooked 😉🎣
Cheers.
Greet video!❤
Thank you
When fishing you never know what you going to catch 😅👍
One of the few times I'm glad I didn't catch.
Great vid mate!
Thanks!
Good video mate👍 sometimes we all have those days that goes not how we want to 👊 new sub mate keep video coming, looking forward 👊🎣🐟
Thanks. we've had a lot of rain recently and it's made fishing more difficult. Most rivers by me are completely inaccessible and even the canals have taken on a lot more water. It could mean some really good post-flood sessions coming up though!
Yeh same here mate, canal the only waters giving best results at the moment 👌🎣
Really enjoyed this - thanks for uploading
