People here don't understand. Their Korean's, they listen to kpop, so they compare it to what they hear and see everyday.

I think this was not discussed but some of the taboos in Japan are: Interracial marriage- this was kind of frowned upon especially of the older generation Not doing Overtime- because in the work set-up most of your colleagues will be doing OT. So, if even your boss is doing OT, they are expecting that you would do the same. However, it seems that they are more lenient towards all foreigners except Asian 😅 (Although hopefully this has changed) Lining up- i think lining up is just a big culture in Japan. If you don’t line up properly, you get stares 😅

Japanese school system teach their young kids life skills like cleaning, preparing meals, and etc, which I think is very effective. Start them young.

Philippines mythological stories are often set in the provinces. Those set in urban areas are thoae that live in trees and few presences of nature like Tikbalang and Kapre that live in trees (inside house/land properties and along the road), and engkanto. Nuno sa punso, too! But more often than not, horror stories involving mythological creatures are set in the provincial areas. Urban horror stories are more centered on ghosts that died horrible deaths (unfortunate accidents and violent crimes) and have died from the Spanish colonial era to the most recent times. Like the friar/priest with the severed head or the nun without a face shrouded in black both from the Spanish Colonial times; the Japanese soldier from the Japanese colonial era; the phantom screams of people who died in a bus freak accident (falling from a cliff and exploding); apparitions of individuals riding public transport in the middle of the night only to disappear at a particular point because they don't know they are already dead. Stuff like that.

I experienced the tail end of the corporal punishment + ROTC era. My elementary teachers were snipers when it comes to throwing chalk to us "boys in the back" (aka the noisy group), my GMRC teacher would always carry a long wooden ruler which doubles as a pointing stick and ofc as a beating stick. During HS (we don't have K-12 during those days), I was enrolled in a Catholic school where nuns are teachers, I remember getting beat up and being sent to disciplinary because I would terrorize the nuns by wearing a headband and tying my shirt to show my navel, basically pretending to be the stereotypical gay during that time (think of a typical gay comedians in movies, that's how I act whenever the subject were boring). Also, there's a lot of stealing incidents, so you have to put your name on EVERYTHING... pencils, books, pad paper... ofc there are money thieves also, so the teacher would make everybody go outside of the classroom then they'll do a full body search and also a bag inspection. 😂😂😂 Also, phones are treated as contraband during those times so we had to hide it in different areas so they won't be seen during inspection. Mind you, these are keypad phones and not the big ass smartphones we have rn so we can really hide it in different areas like under the socks, or we would make a secret stash under the seat using paper and a copious amount of tape, or some rich kids would have tailor-made a secret pocket in their pants and/or bag

A lot of parents even encouraged teachers to punish their kids if makulit sa klase. But as a young child ang laki ng impact na pinapalo ka sa klase bukod sa masakit, mapapahiya ka pa sa harap ng mga kaklase mo.

Your senior food tasters were amusing and endearing...and they were thoughtful in their judgments of the food you asked them to taste...I was kind of expecting you'd follow through with desserts...anyway, that can be another vlog! And I am relieved you did not go the balut route...the two ladies would be so shocked

My gosh! The pressure from the people outside your lovelife, is different talaga. I remember when I went with my parents to a business meeting, there’s this person, okay, I would say it, the “boss” asked my age and when I answered, he follows it up with ah! you’re in marrying age already, you should be giving your parents their grandchildren already. 😂 I was 28 then.

While watching bumabalik din yung mga memories nung elementary days. Haha. Ginigising ako ng Lola ko 4 am kasi 5 am susunduin na ako ng service sa bahay. Pangatlo ako sa sinusundo. Tapos From Bacoor yung bahay namin tapos sa Imus pa school ko that's why I have school service. May practice sila after school. Hahaha. Mabibili mo yun ng 5 pesos per tasa. Yung school namin (PUBLIC) sobrang lawak. Dati daw yun sementeryo. Mostly daw ng public schools noon dating sementeryo. Totoo ba? Hahaha.

I woke up at 4am to beat the traffic in Metro Manila after a night of typewritten homework and then math homework, breakfast at home, finish shorter hand written homework over coffee in school (all while my folks are en route to their offices), go to tutoring/group studies or orgs after regular class, then take two hours to get home (assuming I don't need to buy anything for any school project etc), eat, do my homework. Saturday was for group projects, if lucky only basketball or football with friends to stay fit then maybe dinner with family, and Sundays we attend mass (now people attend mass in the same campus since there's a bigger church) and family lunch, but Sat and Sunday nights are all homework too.
