I don't have the explanation for the milkshake. It'd be cool to somehow figure out if it's just water (condensation) or coolant. Is your crankcase vent still stock,, does it go back into the intake? If we think about it,, any condensation from the hot truck being shut off in cold weather will end up going thru the ccv system. I would say the engine will easily ingest that while its working. Didn't say it's right,,, but it will run thru there. that would also smoke if there's a lot of it too huh?? I quit beating myself in the backyard with a1 cardone about 10 years ago. Your better off changing your oil every 5,000 miles with a cheap filter like STP or Supertech and a mid-grade oil such as Quaker State. If by using your logic that the box says the filter is good for 20,000 miles, and you believe that, then why not pair it with a 20,000 mile oil and just trust that everything is fine? It only costs $30.00 to $40.00 to change your oil with a good midgrade oil and a cheaper (but not poorly constructed) oil filter. Depending on your engine, I would say max OCI is 7,500 miles. Yeah, 5,000 could be considered OCD but if you don't drive much that's still only twice a year. 10,000 miles is just too long. Unless you want to go thru the trouble of sending your oil out for a UOA to see what's going on with the oil in YOUR SPECIFIC engine (every one is different) just change the dang oil. I think with modern oils and filter improvements, 5,000 is a little too frequent, but 7,500 miles is a good compromise. It's just such cheap insurance why not just do it?
