RIGHTCHANNELRADIOS.COM - THE #1 SOURCE FOR TRUCK & 4X4 CB EQUIPMENT
Looking for a CB for your Prius? Sorry, you're in the wrong place. We specialize in rugged CB installs for trucks, Jeeps, 4x4s, construction equipment and other beefy vehicles. We're the nation's #1 source for heavy-duty CB needs, a reputation we earned the hard way: by giving more than 30,000 customers the outstanding service they deserved.
Based in Bozeman, MT, we're owned and operated by outdoorsmen and fellow 4x4 drivers. Montana has its fair share of dusty washboard roads and freezing temperatures, so we know what harsh conditions can do to equipment. As a result, we stock and recommend CB products that are up to the challenge.

I am watching this in July 2024 and I just want to say THANK YOU
These mounts are ok . But not being centered on the vehical will result in high SWR'S
Yeah you took the spring off and didn't show the tuning???
Вот это красавица.... Ретро, мне нравится ! ! ! НО ! ! ! В России такую не найти.
Received one the other day was quite looking forward to it came all the way from the US anyway plugged it in to my Lincoln 2 plus nothing after pulling it apart trying to rewire I found all I could get was transmitting receive Press the mic button and it unkey no audio
only guy I know who says antenna correctly
Here's what I learned from being on the radio. You'll get squashed in the mud without a little fire in the wire lol
does it matter what fuse, or awg size of wire, the cb has a different fuse than the adapter? does this matter if its just going to be in a 12v car system?
Today CB radios are not CB radios that were popular in the 60s and 70s, The FCC has recently authorized Frequency Modulation on CB radio, which traditionally Amplitude Modulation. To me, I think using a CB radio on FM with PL tone, would have same distance as FRS/GMRS simplex channels. Of course, the FCC didn't authorize an increase output power, but with the proper antenna, any 4-watt CB will sound just as good as 5-watt GMRS or even MURS, which is restricted to only 2 watts

I run a 102
What radio is this ??
x2
@@SpheresVA thank you

keep belting out these vids and cover as much CB material/reviews/installs etc.. as possible. this revised platform is solid so run with it

I noticed at the end you didn’t keep the antenna spring on. What president cb radio you think has the best power or heavy duty use. SSB thanks
That may be the biggest selling handheld in the USA but not in Europe or elsewhere in the world. LOL
Any antenna you use you need to properly tune it or match it to the coax. The best radio in the wprld will still work like $#!t if your antenna is poor. Most factory antennas are tuned close but not perfectly. While you can use an swr meter to tune the antenna its better to use an analyzer or nanovna Its more accurate ( you dont need the radio hooked up to the antenna to tune it)
Why you did not show how to set it up????? Nice video.😇
Great video
❤ I start a CB when I was 13 now. 58❤
New subscriber - Great channel !!!! How do you feel about running an amp in line with this set up? Thanks for any input buddy !!! Take care & keep up the great work. 👍🏻📻👍🏻
nice review I love that it comes with the adapter to use a roof mount in the car. and that it has a jack for an ear piece.
Does it have a built-in SWR I thought I read somewhere that it did but I didn't see it when you were going through the options
I have a magnet antenna that picks up engine noise.
A have a magnet antenna that picks up the truck engine
i really like mine - excellent audio reports
Dad and I installed and properly repaired and tuned a thousand rigs, mobile and bade stations. Dad made everything he touched correctly modulated and band width. 73s KD7CKT
A simple thing to remember guys, the higher the frequency, the shorter the antenna and vice versa.
On my 2000 7.3 PSD using a President George FCC my truck dies when I key the mic. Yes I checked ALL wiring, ground straps, battery connection...etc. Tried different antennas, coaxes....but EVERY time I key the mic the engine dies. Next I tried a STAND ALONE battery. NOT connected to the vehicle in any way...and the truck dies when I key the mic. So its an RF problem. Is it the radio? Is it the truck? Any ideas as to WHAT sensor in the truck? ALL help is appreciated.
Did you try running the radio off a separate deep cycle battery NOT connected to the truck's electrical system?
@@platinumfalconm3891 Not a deep cycle battery, but yes a car lead acid battery separate from the trucks electrical system. From what I can tell its the radios RF that causes it. I just dont know the cure yet.
So I built a Dipole and i have a metal roof, I know there is a way to bond the antenna to the roof, i just dont know how
Also CB is longer range because it can sometimes bounce off the atmosphere
Have you considered the ionosphere bounce that CB can sometimes get?
Thanks for the video, it's very informative
I'd say get a mobile in the band of your choice (CB/GMRS) and a handheld in the other as a backup. (Or just be radio dork like me and have CB, 10M, 12M, GMRS, 2M and 70cM all in your truck...). 😉
That oughta cover it
Great video, can i use an base station antenna on my boat ? Would like a big antenna there. Not use what you mentioned about the length of the coax, if i need a specific length on it to tune right.
On a boat you should start with a VHF Marine Radio. Unless you are adding a CB /GMRS as a backup. Boats usually have 6/7ft long vhf antennas.
@@RyanS493 I have VHF antenne, and are planning to put my cb radio in my boat. Got an spare Anytone AT 6666
Thanks I just getting into cb radio this has explained swr good.
If I got one of those for when I’m traveling, what’s the average range? Thanks in advance.
I agree 👍
I think it’s like 2 miles at most, I can hear a lot on it but I cannot reach out at all
We need a video on cb lingo.
Can I use this radio as a base station?
CB continue to be a worthwhile second line of emergency communications If you've ever come upon a wreck or had an accident and your cell is in a no or poor signal area, a CB or a better, a CB with "other bands" or a compact ham rig "modified" to have CB frequencies can really save lives.
did u have a stroke writing the title lol
Does it have auto squelch ?
Clear and concise information, much appreciated. I'll give you a call to help me with my setup.
How do you like it ?
Thanks it really help me out in understanding tuning the antenna
Just got one of these. I'm excited to try it in my log truck! I have a president richard that runs on cb channels, but something is wrong with it so I figured try this.
no one uses cb anymore waste of money and time
Wrong!
Totally wrong

What would one recommend from an older Kia Sorento as an antenna mount? And antenna package to connect to my even older RCA Co-pilot or Uniden Pro 510xl. I think for space the Uniden would be better for my purposes. Do the door-frame mount fro antennas still exist?
So good
Interesting, but if I may ask, why the difference?
