I am so glad that I found your video on KZread. This video was so Amazing. And the educational history of the dance historian teachers is priceless. The drummers bought out the breath and rhythm in the dancers. Congratulations to everybody involved in this video. Ashe"

As a youth I LOVED watching "The Prime Minister's Best Village Competition." Certain things I will never forget like the older ladies from up in Paramin Village doing the very slow, graceful and very elegant "Pique" but it was always a special treat when Tobago villages were performing, especially the Reel, Jigs and Speech-Bands. Me and my brothers went wild when one tess delivered the following lines ... "Tit for tat, Butter for Fat, If you kill mih dog, I will kill your cat. Drag yuh bow Mr. Fiddler!!" 😊 It is really sad and a damm shame that recordings of those performances were not preserved for future generations...but I'm happy to know that this African-based tradition is still alive. (If you ever get to hear Ra-Ra music from Haiti you will understand how closely related it all is.) I just hope that young folks in Tobago take pride and a genuine interest in learning this unique cultural expression called Tambrin Music.
