  A note from Germany: Because before 1873 there had been no writing rules, Standard German was created in this year. But i case of family names, the people could write their names in the way of 1872. This means, the same name can be written as: Maier, Meier, Mayer, Meyer, Mair, Meir even Maijer i have seen.   Ah Mair's scythe. It stands out in Mair's "exotica". Everything else has a connection to something else. The sickle comes from the dagger. The peasant staff isnjust a stick you beat somebody with. The flail is a guard's weapon and a weapon with a lineage in the fencing schools of the era. Then you have the scythe. And it has no connection to anything seemingly. I would love to delve more into it, but sadly there are no good synthetic heads on the european market. Maybe one day MAC-Armoury will offer it like they did their sickles.

  Have you noticed in all the sword fighting scenes that nobody stabs for the legs first? Faint stab for the face, stab the upper thigh! Then just stay away and watch them bleed out!

  Nikdy jsem si nemyslel, že takové zvláštní štíty mohou vypadat v akci tak elegantně. Upřímně jsem je neměl moc v lásce, ale vaše série zapříčinila, že mám chuť si jít zašermovat i s nimi. Místo třeba dlouhého meče nebo rapíru.

  Great video. But what's the purpose of this kind of shield? it's big, cumbersome and barely able to hold it with 1 hand due to how the handle is positioned

  We also have long dueling shields on the canal. These shields are from Gladiatorium. There is one illumination, unless there are others that I don't know.
