    I haven't bought any Grafika puzzles yet, though I was thinking about it. I'm not a fan of uncut pieces. Two or three in 1000 is okay-ish. But that much? It kind of making me wondering what other things this brand may lacked compared to some others.

    I didn’t care for this one. Too many misfits and about eighty square pieces to throw out because it wasn’t cut correctly.

    Yes you actually can. Mine was either way second hand, also made before... They do fit tightly but you can take it apart if you want. Not as easy as the regular ones, since they do have a tight fit, but are still manageable...

    Those are very nice images but I would find some of them very challenging due to large areas of similar texture and colour not to mention the repeating patterns. It's not so bad for a 1000 piece puzzle but when you get to 5000 or 8000 pieces then the difficulty is at another level. You are very courageous my friend.

    Yes you are absolutely right. I do think of it too. I actually did not have many big puzzles. Apart from some really big ones like the 24000 pieces of educa. Now I have acquired way too many. It has become somewhat of a collection..

    You are a far braver man than I buying multi-thousand piece second hand puzzles. I'd be unable to enjoy putting the puzzles together due to worrying the whole time that there'd be pieces missing. Even if at the end they were all there, the doubt would have spoiled the experience. I assume because you've been happy to buy them then you one of the rare, but lucky, puzzlers that don't mind if a piece is missing from a puzzle you do? The bollywood puzzle is the one in this batch I'd most like to do myself, purely because my wife is Indian so it'd be nice to show her the completed puzzle.

  • @fellowpuzzler
    @fellowpuzzler2 ай бұрын

    I feel the same way about missing pieces. Even with brand new puzzles, I start worrying that a piece is missing whenever I can't find a piece I am looking for. Most of the time it turns up later but I had 3 brand new puzzles so far that were missing at least one piece and I am sure it's not me who lost them. That's why I enjoy redoing my puzzles. I know that all the pieces are there and all the damaged pieces have been repaired so I don't have to worry about that either.

  • @PuzzleWacko
    @PuzzleWacko2 ай бұрын

    Yes I know what you mean. Well the Process is what matters mostly, still this 8000 would be really a shame since the build is marvelous. The Bollywood, was stated it has one piece missing, but i got it for 1 euro. So i said I may try it.

    @@fellowpuzzler that is an interesting approach. Never actually thought it that way. Still to grow, sometimes you have to get out of your comfort or take some risks..

  • @fellowpuzzler
    @fellowpuzzler2 ай бұрын

    @@PuzzleWacko Yes. In general, I agree with this principle but, for me, doing puzzles is a way to relax and take my mind off the daily worries so stressing out about missing pieces would be counter productive. Some people don't mind missing pieces. It is the journey that matters not the destination as they say. For me, doing a puzzle that ends up missing pieces feels like watching a suspense movie that cuts off before the conclusion or reading a detective novel that's missing the last few pages. Plus, if you know it is missing pieces, you're always wondering if the piece you can't find is one of them. I shouldn't worry about it but it's in my nature to see that anything I do is brought to full completion, including puzzles.

  • @PuzzleWacko

    @@fellowpuzzler Everybody experiences it differently, and it is good this way, since everybody has a unique Character. I too for example don't like to pickup my puzzle because they make fall apart. If I took them apart either it would not be a problem, but I like to keep them complete. It is good that you have found what you like and what you don't. In the end it is something that YOU should enjoy. ;)

    If you ever get around to doing the grafika solid black puzzle then I'd be interested to see and hear how you get on with it. Krypt have their unusual piece shape to make them easier, but this one looks like it will be very difficult indeed. Do you think the challenge of completing it will make up for the lack of pleasure assembling a beautiful image gives? I absolutely love the 2000 piece Grafika collage picture you've chosen! That is stunning. Have not seen that puzzle before. Collage puzzles are my go-to puzzles to do when I want to simply relax and enjoy the pleasant time spent doing them. Not a huge challenge, just a relaxation and wind down from the stresses of the day. This one is beautiful. Excellent choice. Have to agree with what you say about the box art though: there is far too much wasted space with the huge white border that is unnecessary and could easily have the puzzle image enlarged to fit the lid much better. Like you, I've not had an Enjoy puzzle so can't say what the brand is like. Will be interested to hear your thoughts and experience with it after you've completed those puzzles. All that dark area is going to be a good test for how well the brand makes their puzzle pieces. The Grafika puzzle "the way of the last empire" is beautiful to look at. What a lovely picture. Makes me wish I had the room to do puzzles that are larger than 1000 pieces. What are your thoughts on the puzzle piece count? Does more pieces always equal more enjoyment, or just a longer time to complete the puzzle so a better cost to hour ratio?

  • @PuzzleWacko
    @PuzzleWacko3 ай бұрын

    The black puzzle would be, really, a challenge. That's a fact. Hopefully, not too frustrating. I have done some difficult skies or foliage and so, was really tiring. Hopefully, that would not be the case here... Fingers crossed... I agree about the collages, Not necessarily the most beautiful image when completed, but fun to assemble. This one is also as whole beautiful. So it is a win-win... The large number of pieces is much more challenging. I would say the range between 1000 and 2000 which is the most common would be the best. That is for people that do puzzle. For inexperienced that may a little bit difficult. For the one that already puzzles, would I think these two and between would be the mark. And of course we have to take account the preferences of each puzzler. At first and foremost, it is a matter of personality. I have bought some big ones, because they were big, but as you say they may take too much time...

    F.X. Schmid was founded in 1860 based in Munich and produced playing cards, board games, and puzzles for children and adults. At some point, a branch of the company was established in the United States. In 1995, the company had about 250 employees and seemed to be doing well. Reportedly, the company ran into economic difficulties in 1996 and merged with and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ravensburger. Today, the F.X. Schmid brand appears mainly in children's books and playing cards sold by Ravensburger. This is a shortened history leaving out some details. I have some F.X. Schmid puzzles and the quality of the jigsaw pieces is excellent. I enjoy watching your video of your puzzle haul.
