    Do you think this is a better option than the 10in and oil needed saw? I probably have more trees than you to cut and wondering how it fair against oak hard wood 🤔. Great video!

  • @1ModernDayDad
    @1ModernDayDad4 күн бұрын

    Oo. Fair question. I really like the oil free option just for maintenance sake. I was cutting an older tree obviously. Not sure on oak, but it really cut just fine. If you’re fine with the oiling I’d go with the 10”. But for me the oil free option cut strong enough. I cut another tree at my work (not sure what type) but that was thicker and cut it pretty good too. Just can’t have the branches be too thick since it’s only 8”. 🤷🏼

    Just got mine today , thanks for your videos. I am doing a similar build looking at your holster video now ,also question he Hellcat pro there is a rattle noise what looks to be the firing pin moving as the gun is slide back is that normal ?

  • @1ModernDayDad
    @1ModernDayDad12 күн бұрын

    Mine has that same rattle and I think it’s the firing pin. If I remember correctly that’s only if the trigger is released. So you can cock, but not chamber a round and that solves it. Or obviously chamber a round and that sets the firing pin in place.

    Got my TTI a few weeks ago and have put 700 rds in it. It has a 3-4% failure to feed rate so I contacted Canik and are sending me a spring that they created to fix this widespread problem. I love the TTI and hopefully their new high performance recoil spring works!

    @@1ModernDayDad Regarding the high performance recoil spring theyre sending, they said its ideal for use with certain high-power loads, or in situations where a high weight recoil spring is needed. The one it came with is supposed to be for 115 and 124 grain which is what i was shooting but we’ll see

    I need to find someone with an SSA-E I can try out. I got the SSA-X for my “house gun” because I wanted a duty grade trigger that wasn’t too light. Got it installed and it’s way lighter than I thought it would be, which I found isn’t a bad thing. The wall is really well defined so I’m not worried about ND’ing like I thought I would be with such a light trigger. I saw the ~4lb pull weight and didn’t realize each stage was ~2lbs 😂. I’m curious how it would feel a pound lighter though. May get the enhanced version for one of my other AR’s.

    I bought mine from PSA and it didn’t come with lube or the slave pin. It came in a plastic bag with a PSA sticker on it with the part number. Emailed PSA about it, they sent me an rma to return it, no explanation. Then called Geissele and they said they quit putting the lube in with the triggers a few months back. They sent me a couple packs of lube and 2 slave pins.

    I did one of these recently but then realized the retractable is pointless. Once you park there is no reason it needs to be retracted. The only reason to retract it is when you move the cars out and want to work in the garage. This is fine if you are working in garage with the door closed but if you want to open it, the ball will drop. So I undid the work I had just done (retractable ball) and instead put fish eye hooks on a out of the way spot of my work bench. My ball stays down all the time unless I want it out of the way, then I manually pull a carabiner clip down to another fish eye which raises both balls (wife's car and my car has one) up to freely work in garage. The retractable idea is really cool it's just not really serving any purpose. I recommend the manual version when you can actually move the balls out of the way when you need to work in garage. This solves all the issues (like kids playing with it, them in the way when door is open while working in garage or doing yard work etc.

  • @1ModernDayDad
    @1ModernDayDad28 күн бұрын

    That’s a clever design. What I like about the retractable is it tells me if the garage door is up or down. Obviously I could look in the mirror, but we’ve had a few times where it stopped 80% up and the ball would tell us that, but my limited view in the mirror shows the garage is fully open.

  • @NewYears1978
    @NewYears197828 күн бұрын

    @@1ModernDayDad Makes sense! I think the retractable is cool for sure! Didn't mean to like be negative toward it that was more more for me as when I did it I realized it was pointless for me haha. But I didn't think about the garage open close thing but we always look in our mirror or camera plus the car will beep like mad (newer cars) if you put it in reverse when the door is closed. Great video none the less!

    Followed this video today after buying the kit you linked in the description, which Amazon had it here within 2 days and delivered it on a Sunday, the kit worked perfectly. Although I encountered lots of cuts on the hands, sweat, and stripped screws I had to replace and use a screw extractor kit (we bought ours used) it ended up working out at the end. No more annoying noises and works just fine. Spent about an hour taking it apart and about 6 hours putting it back together, mainly because all of the stripped screws and bad job the previous owners did before we bought it. But this video was the only one out of about 40 videos I looked at that worked for me and was informative for me. I’m only 21 and I haven’t done much handy man work in the past on appliances in the house but since I moved out I’ve had to figure out a way to fix things that I had issues with. Thank you so much, you saved our household from losing their mind from that awful noise. Incase anyone else is wondering, our washer/dryer model was “flxe52rbs8” and it worked for us
